In certain aspects the methods comprise administering an inhibitor of hydrogen sulfide biosynthesis, a cystathionine-&#x3b2;-synthase (CBS) inhibitor, or a hydrogen sulfide neutralizing agent to a patient having a cancer associated with elevated production of hydrogen sulfide.
