A two-component dispensing gun has two longitudinally-extending dispensing passages receiving metering rods and in fluid communication with two feed passages adjacent to an especially configured metering rod tip and valve seats formed at the exit end of each dispensing passage. Valve seats of the dispensing passage extend as protrusions from the gun nose and are sealingly received within cup shaped recesses formed in a detachable, throwaway nozzle having a static mixing chamber. The nozzle has a truncated cone configuration which, in combination with the geometric configuration of the dispensing and feed passages alleviates turbulent flow of the liquid components until reaching the static mixer within the nozzle. A cammed surface on each metering rod in combination with a yoke crossbar formed as part of the gun's trigger provides increased motion of the trigger for fine or slow metering applications of the gun.

A roof construction uses a one-component adhesive to adhere roof tiles to a roof. The adhesive is formed in a U-shaped pattern in that the adhesive is dispensed in a bottom leg deposit on the tile's underside, a bight deposit extending about the tile's leading edge and a top adhesive deposit overlying the bottom deposit and extending on the outside surface of the tile. As the tiles are laid onto the roof in an overlying fashion, the U-shaped adhesive is sandwiched between the tile, the overlying tile and the roof forming sealing contact therewith and therebetween.

A method of adhering roof tiles to a roof utilizes a one-component adhesive and in particular, a one-component polyurethane adhesive foam applied to the undersurfaces of the roof tiles in a discontinuous patterns. The adhesive is applied in the form of separate deposits at opposing corners of the undersurfaces of the roof tiles and the roof tiles are laid on the roof in serial fashion and overlapping courses.
