Systems and methods for relieving pressure from a subsea transport line are provided. The system can include a vessel having a bottom end that can be at least partially open and in fluid communication with a subsea environment. The vessel can also include one or more relief lines each having a first end and a second end. The first end can be coupled to one or more subsea transport lines coupled to one or more subsea production units and the second end can be coupled to a top end of the vessel. The relief line can include one or more pressure relief devices at least partially disposed therein.

Subsea overpressure relief device

A pipeline segment, used for the manufacture of a thin-walled underwater pipeline. Terminal pipe sectionsare at either end of main pipe section. Terminal pipe sectionsare thick-walled or otherwise resistant to collapse due to external pressure. A pressure isolation devicemaintains an internal pressure in main pipe sectionabove a shut off pressure. A pressure compensation systemcan protect main pipe sectionfrom collapse due to external pressure. Pipeline segmentscan be manufactured by connecting and winding stalksonto storage deviceforming main pipe section. Terminal pipe sectioncan be connected to the lead end of main pipe section, and main pipe sectioncan be unwound from storage devicewhile towing.

Continuously pressurized pipeline

Apparatuses including a subsea pipeline () extending from a first location () to a second location () and including at least one distributed buoyancy region () to traverse a seabed topographic feature () are presented. Methods including laying a subsea pipeline () including laying a negatively buoyant section of pipeline (A), a distributed buoyancy section () of pipeline (), and a second negatively buoyant section of pipeline (B) from a pipelay vessel () to traverse an undersea topographic feature () are also presented.

Various apparatuses and methods to traverse an undersea topographic feature () with a subsea pipeline () are disclosed. The apparatuses and methods of the present invention accomplish this task through the use of a concentrated buoyancy scheme (). The invention disclosed can allow more efficient and cost effective traversal of hostile terrain for subsea pipelines at great depths while minimizing the risk of rupturing the pipeline () or negatively impacting the surrounding undersea environment.
