A three-layered article of footwear construction having an outsole, midsole, and footbed. The outsole is made out of a rubber and has a mating relationship with the midsole. The midsole is made of a single density blown ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). The midsole includes a first air cavity in the forefoot region and a second air cavity in the hind foot. The air cavities act like a suspension units under the impact areas of a foot giving improved impact reduction and help in reducing muscular and joint stress, fatigue, and impact during the normal walking gait motion. The footbed is made of a dual-density EVA. The dual density of the footbed allows for a greater flexibility and cushioning in the forefoot and heel regions due to its lighter density and provides greater support and stability around the perimeter area of the footbed due to its heavier density.

A lid for industrial or commercial large size solid waste containers has a ribbed single layer central portion and a peripheral edge having a hollow double wall boxed configuration. The lids have substantial symmetry so that the lids may be stacked and nested with alternate lids oriented in opposite front-to-back directions.

A universal lid for industrial or commercial large size solid waste containers, has a ribbed single layer central portion and a peripheral edge having a hollow double wall boxed configuration. The boxed perimeter may have a predetermined height such as approximately one inch, and the lid is provided with hinge lugs having a vertical extent substantially more but not more than twice than said predetermined height. In addition, the lids have substantial symmetry so that the lids may be stacked and nested with alternate lids oriented in opposite front-to-back directions. With this type of lid, the advantages of both single layer and double layer lid constructions may be realized.

Universal lid for large solid waste containers

The present invention is directed to methods for extracting a kerogen-based product from subsurface (oil) shale formations, wherein such methods rely on fracturing and/or rubblizing portions of said formations so as to enhance their fluid permeability, and wherein such methods further rely on chemically modifying the shale-bound kerogen so as to render it mobile. The present invention is also directed at systems for implementing at least some of the foregoing methods. Additionally, the present invention is also directed to methods of fracturing and/or rubblizing subsurface shale formations and to methods of chemically modifying kerogen in situ so as to render it mobile.

Kerogen extraction from subterranean oil shale resources

An array of ferroelectric memory cells that allows imprint mitigation includes ferroelectric memory cells respectively coupled to word lines, plate lines, and bit lines; a word line driver for driving the word lines; a plate line driver for driving the plate lines; a bit line driver for driving the bit lines; and an isolation device driver for driving isolation devices coupled between the bit lines and a plurality of bit lines. The method for mitigating imprint includes coupling the bit lines to a respective plurality of sense amplifiers, turning on a word line and pulsing a plate line associated with a row of ferroelectric memory cells, disconnecting the bit lines from the respective sense amplifiers, driving the plate line low and the bit lines high, driving the plate line high and the bit lines low, driving the plate line low and floating the bit lines, driving the bit lines with the sense amplifier, and turning off the word line and precharging the bit lines. The method can be performed after each memory access, or can be performed whenever convenient with a counter and a rejuvenate command.

Method for mitigating imprint in a ferroelectric memory

Early detection of computer viruses is provided by collecting information about suspicious messages and generating virus outbreak information. In one embodiment, a method comprises receiving the virus outbreak information that has been determined by receiving message information for messages that have characteristics associated with computer viruses, wherein the messages were determined by a virus-check component as not comprising a virus, and mapping the message information received in a specified time period to the virus outbreak information; and when the virus outbreak information indicates initiation of a virus attack, performing a message flow control action for additional messages that have the same characteristics associated with computer viruses as the first messages. As a result, a messaging gateway can suspend delivery of messages early in a virus outbreak, providing sufficient time for updating an anti-virus checker that can strip virus code from the messages.

Method and apparatus for managing computer virus outbreaks

A counting scheme for a non-volatile counter includes automatic point-of-reference generation implemented in a state machine. Two state variables are used to store the rotation history of the magnet. One variable stores the previous position of the magnet and the other stores the net angle traveled by the magnet from the reference point. The first pulse location after the counter is reset is automatically selected as the reference point until the next counter reset. When the nonvolatile counter counts up or down, i.e. when the magnet travels 360&#xb0; in either direction, the second state variable is set to zero and the first state variable is set to the reference point, indicating the start of a new revolution.
