Systems and methods for supporting a high thermal gradient between a qubit plane and a control system for the qubit plane are described. A system includes a qubit plane associated with a first rigid circuit portion of a superconducting rigid-flex circuit and a control system associated with a second rigid circuit portion of the superconducting rigid-flex circuit. The superconducting rigid-flex circuit includes a flexible circuit portion for interconnecting the first rigid circuit portion with the second rigid circuit portion. The system further includes a first cooling system operable to maintain an operating temperature for the qubit plane and the first rigid circuit portion of the superconducting rigid-flex circuit at or below 100 milli-kelvin. The system further includes a second cooling system operable to maintain an operating temperature for the control system and the second rigid circuit portion of the superconducting rigid-flex circuit at or below 10 kelvin.

An immersion cooling system includes an immersion tank defining an immersion chamber therein, an immersion working fluid, an energy source, an optical sensor, and a microcontroller. The immersion working fluid is positioned at least partially in the immersion chamber and the immersion working fluid has a liquid phase and a vapor phase. The energy source is positioned and oriented to direct an infrared beam through a portion of the vapor phase with a beam path and path length. The optical sensor is positioned in the beam path. The microcontroller is configured to determine vapor concentration in the immersion chamber based at least partially on data from the path length, the optical sensor, and the energy source.

High temperature superconductor (HTS)-based interconnect systems comprising a cable including HTS-based interconnects are described. Each of the HTS-based interconnects includes a first portion extending from a first end towards an intermediate portion and a second portion extending from the intermediate portion to a second end. Each of the HTS-based interconnects includes a substrate layer formed in the first portion, in the intermediate portion, and in the second portion, a high temperature superconductor layer formed in at least a sub-portion of the first portion, in the intermediate portion, and in the second portion, and a metallic layer formed in the first portion and in at least a sub-portion of the intermediate portion. The HTS-based interconnect system includes a thermal load management system configured to maintain the intermediate portion of each of the HTS-based interconnects at a predetermined temperature in a range between a temperature of 60 kelvin and 92 kelvin.

The description relates to cooling electronic components, such as computing devices. One example includes a rack defining a volume and multiple sealed chassis modules removably fluidly coupled to a two-phase condenser tank via a vapor coupler and a liquid coupler. Individual sealed chassis modules can contain one or more electronic components immersed in two-phase coolant that when heated by operation of the electronic components experiences a phase change from a liquid phase to a gas phase and travels to the two-phase condenser tank via the vapor coupler and is cooled in the two-phase condenser tank until experiencing a phase change back into the liquid phase. Individual sealed chassis modules can be decoupled from the two-phase condenser tank without releasing two-phase coolant and an entirety of the multiple sealed chassis modules and the condenser tank are contained in the volume of the rack.

Touchscreen testing techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a piece of conductor (e.g., metal) is positioned as proximal to a touchscreen device and the touchscreen device is tested by simulating a touch of a user. This technique may be utilized to perform a variety of different testing of a touchscreen device, such as to test latency and probabilistic latency. Additional techniques are also described including contact geometry testing techniques.

A sanitizing system for use with monitors, particularly including touchscreen monitors, includes an ultraviolet light source positioned about a periphery of the monitor and configured to transmit light toward the monitor. A sensor detects the presence of an object such as a human finger in the close vicinity or in contact with the monitor in order to stop the operation of the lights.

A web configurable human input device is provided. The device includes at least one mechanical control element having a dynamically alterable appearance. In some embodiments, the appearance of the at least one mechanical control element is dynamically altered in response to the execution of an input device web script. An example of such a web configurable human input device is an active keyboard in which the at least one mechanical control element having a dynamically alterable appearance is one of an array of keys of the active keyboard. When the active keyboard is connected to a web-enabled device, at least one key of the array of keys is configured to alter its appearance in response to the execution of the input device web script.

An active matrix for a capacitive multiple touch sensing device is disclosed. One embodiment comprises one or more active matrix capacitive touch sensing pixels that each include a capacitor and a thin film transistor, wherein a voltage can be applied to the thin film transistor to address the capacitor. In this way, the thin film transistor can operate as a switch to apply an alternating current to the capacitor, and the capacitor's capacitance can be measured in relation to the alternating current and an externally applied electric field.

Operational characteristics of a wireless input device are modified so as to balance performance and power conservation. Power management algorithms may include an algorithm that improves device performance and increases device power consumption, as well as an algorithm that decreases device power consumption and reduces device performance. An algorithm that most closely corresponds to the desired balance of performance and power consumption is identified. The identified algorithm is then transmitted to the wireless device.

Various embodiments relate to systems and methods that facilitate wireless device communications and configuration. A detection component identifies N devices that are coupled together via a biological medium, N being an integer, wherein the medium includes direct or indirect touching to a device or devices. After biological contact, a configuration component initiates a configuration between a subset of the devices.

Capacitive bonding of devices

Described is a technology by which a computer pointing device (generally a mouse but alternatively a game controller or remote control device) may be worn on the hand and operated without needing to contact a mousing surface. Gyroscopic-based sensors convert the wearer's hand and wrist movements to signals which are sent to a host computing device such as a conventional personal computer, a gaming console, an electronic appliance, and so forth. The data received from the pointing device may be used to move a cursor or the like, and other received data may correspond to left and right mouse clicks, scrolling operations, and so forth. A user-controlled enable switch/sensor selectively activates or deactivates the pointing device so that only intended movements result in data transmission. Gestures may also be sensed and used to trigger defined functions.

A keyboard and touchpad or mouse UV treatment system with optical sensor and inclined slide is described. A proximity sensor, microcontroller firmware, and motorized mechanism allow activation of the sanitization cycle by personnel with contaminated hands without risk of additional spreading of pathogens to other personnel and patients. The inclined slide provides stability when operated on a desk, and the microcontroller and optical sensor determine the proper exposure time to compensate for lamp aging and variations in lamp output.
