The present invention is an adjustable hanger bar assembly for a light fixture. The assembly maintains structural integrity between first and second bars to support a recessed light fixture while being extended to distances where typical mounting assemblies fail. The hanger bar assembly comprises first and second bars which slidably engage one another. One of the first and second bars comprises a foldable foot which may be extended to increase the length of the hanger bar assembly.

A captive retaining spring for a recessed mounting assembly has a retaining spring which is adjustable to compensate for multiple ceiling thicknesses, does not require the use of tools for installation, and may be assembled by the manufacturer and shipped ready for installation.

A recessed luminaire having a moisture barrier is disclosed. The recessed luminiare has a socket cup which receives a removable and deformable moisture barrier gasket, the moisture barrier gasket forming a seal along an inner diameter of an aperture which receives a lamp. The recessed luminaire has a moisture barrier which isolates the electronic compartment area of the socket cup of a luminaire and prevents moisture access therein.

A system for supporting a suspended ceiling and for supporting fixtures below the suspended ceiling. The suspended ceiling includes an inverted, T-shaped grid of structural members. A mounting clip is provided that comprises two parts. A first, fixed part includes a first, horizontal leg, a second leg that depends from the first leg, and a third leg depending from the second leg. A second, reversible part comprises a central body with first and second ends. The central body includes either a locating hook or an aperture at each of the first and second ends that mates with a corresponding complementarily-shaped locating hook or aperture on the first and third legs of the first part of the clip. The second part of the mounting clip is also relieved adjacent each end. The relieved portions are of different shapes from each other so that the mounting clip can accommodate differently-shaped structural members.

A blood processing system is described in which blood pressure readings obtained before and after passage of blood aspirated from an operative site through a membrane separator is used by a programmed controller to determine the hematocrit level of the blood and to add saline solution to adjust the hematocrit level to a desired level. The blood processing system contains a distributor cap to distribute wash solution to the inside of a filter to wash out additional blood cellular material within the filter. A precollector may be used remotely from the site of the blood processing system and later joined with the system to withdraw blood contained in the precollector for processing by the blood processing system.

A subcutaneous implantable access port is formed of a housing having a pair of noncircular fluid cavities enclosed therein by a floor, walls upstanding from the floor, and a self-sealing septum positioned above each fluid cavity. The housing is constructed of a base, a septum support, and a cap. An outlet stem exits the base and communicates with the fluid cavities therein. The outlet stem has two prongs formed in a side-by-side configuration extending outwardly from the base. The prongs are formed within the stem channels in fluid communication with the fluid cavities. Protruding radially outwardly from the portion of said prong is a barb. Fluid injected into the fluid cavity through the septum flows through a smooth transition region in which the cross-sectional area is smoothly reduced from the corresponding fluid cavity. A locking sleeve provides radial inward pressure upon the catheter which is slid over the outlet stem, thereby insuring that the catheter remains mounted on the outlet stem.

An irrigation system for irrigating and pressurizing a body cavity during an endoscopic procedure, such as during arthroscopy, includes a source of irrigation liquid, a pneumatically driven pump for pumping irrigation liquid from the source into the body cavity. The pump develops pulsatile flow and its operation is controlled by a pressure regulator that regulates the pressure of air applied to the pump. The system enables disablement of the pumping function of the pump while permitting gravity flow of irrigation liquid to the body cavity. The pump and associated tubing is inexpensive and adapted for one-time, disposable use.
