A system for use with a bed having a frame and a supporting surface includes a sheet having a bottom surface configured to be placed above the supporting surface and a top surface opposite the bottom surface, and a wedge having a wedge body with a base wall, a ramp surface, and a back wall, wherein the base wall has a base engagement member configured to engage a surface of the bed to form a selective gliding assembly that resists movement of the wedge with respect to the bed in a direction extending from the back wall toward the apex, and wherein the base engagement member is configured as a patch, the patch covering only a first portion of the base wall such that edges of the engagement members are spaced from edges of the base wall to allow a second portion of the base wall to be exposed.

Apparatus and system for turning and positioning a patient

A system for use with an inflatable device includes an air output and a nozzle at a distal end of the air output. The nozzle includes a lip extending radially from the nozzle and configured to retain the nozzle in a port of the inflatable device. The lip has a non-circular shape around the nozzle.

A method of using a cushioned support device includes providing a cushioned support device, which includes a pad having a top surface covering a pair of pontoons configured to extend parallel to a patient's leg. The top surface includes a first material extending along lateral sides of the pad and a second material, different from the first material, covering a center portion of the pad, the second material configured to conform to the patient's leg. The cushioned support device further includes a securing system coupled to the pad. The method further includes placing the patient's leg on the cushioned support device such that the patient's leg is disposed on the pad aligned with the second material and securing, via the securing system, the patient's leg to the pad.

The ramp engagement member is configured to engage the sheet engagement member to form a selective gliding assembly that resists movement of the sheet with respect to the ramp surface in a first direction.

An apparatus is configured for use with a chair having a supporting surface, and includes a bottom member having a cushioning member, the bottom member adapted to be placed above the supporting surface. The bottom member has a rear edge adapted to be placed proximate a rear of the chair and a front edge opposite the rear edge. A pumping apparatus includes a pump configured for moving air, a housing supporting and at least partially containing the pump, and an air output that includes a hose having a first end connected to the housing and in communication with the pump, such that the pump is configured to move air through the hose, and a second end configured for allowing air to exit the hose, wherein the hose has a length defined between the first and second ends. A switch is mounted on the hose and located along the length of the hose, and the switch is configured for controlling operation of the pump. A pumping apparatus includes a pump configured for moving air, a housing supporting the pump, and an air output in communication with the pump. An apparatus is configured for use with a chair having a supporting surface, and includes a cushioning member adapted to be placed above the supporting surface, a bottom sheet connected to the cushioning member and having an engagement surface opposite the cushioning member, a top sheet having a bottom surface positioned in confronting relation to the engagement surface and a top surface opposite the bottom surface, and a selective gliding assembly positioned between the top and bottom sheets. The top sheet has at least one end connected to the bottom sheet, and the top sheet further has a slip resistant material positioned on the top surface. The selective gliding assembly includes engagement members positioned on the engagement surface and on the bottom surface of the top sheet, and the engagement members engage each other to resist forward sliding of the top sheet and to permit rearward sliding of the top sheet.

Hose protection sleeve coupling

A patient positioning system for use with a patient on a bed includes a sheet having a bottom surface configured to be placed above the supporting surface of the bed and a top surface opposite the bottom surface, and a wedge having a base wall, a ramp surface, and a back wall, with the ramp surface joined to the base wall to form an apex. The wedge is positioned under the sheet such that the base wall confronts the supporting surface of the bed and the ramp surface confronts the bottom surface of the sheet. The bottom surface of the sheet and the ramp surface of the wedge have engagement members forming a selective gliding assembly that resists movement of the sheet with respect to the wedge in at least one direction and permits movement of the sheet with respect to the wedge in at least one other direction.
