Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a request to forecast allocations for a new descriptor, the new descriptor differing from preexisting descriptors, each of the preexisting descriptors being associated with a subset of locations of a network of locations, each location corresponding to an electronic segment in electronic canvases, and the new descriptor being associated with a new subset of locations of the network of locations, identifying one or more affected descriptors having one or more overlapping subsets of locations of the network of locations and one or more non-overlapping subsets of locations of the network of locations, determining a forecast of allocated locations in each of the one or more affected descriptors; identifying, according to the forecast, at least a portion of allocated locations in the one or more overlapping subsets of locations that are displaceable resulting in a number of displaceable allocations, and determining, according to the number of displaceable allocations, a forecast of available unallocated locations with displacement. Method and apparatus for managing allocations of media content in electronic segments

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving first data from each media publishing system of a plurality of media publishing systems which facilitate a presentation of media content with one or more procurable media content slots, where the first data from each media publishing system have incompatible data structures; mapping the first data from each media publishing system to second data which has a common data structure; receiving a target description from a media procurement system, the target description including information to procure media content slots provided by one or more of the plurality of media publishing systems; comparing the target description to the second data in the common data format; identifying from the comparing at least one procurable media content slot provided by one or more media publishing systems that correlates to the target description; receiving first viewership data associated with viewership of media content presentations that include the at least one procurable media content slot; generating according to the first viewership data an estimated viewership size associated with the viewership of media content presentations that include the at least one procurable media content slot; and providing, by the processing system, the estimated viewership size to the media procurement system. Apparatus and method for allocating media content slots across disparate media supply channel systems

Techniques are disclosed for advantageously forecasting an inventory of a product having a particular duration (e.g., video content). The technique can include determining the particular configuration (e.g., maximum number of impressions, maximum amount of time permitted) of breaks identified within an impression log. Based on the number of breaks and the configurations of the breaks, the technique can forecast a future inventory of the product. In some implementations, the disclosed technique can identify an amount of a previous break that was not filled with video content. These forecasts can enable product sellers to better communicate with their customers, negotiate supply contracts, price their products, plan for business operations, etc.

The present invention relates generally to a method of producing an electrostatic field generating plate. More specifically, the method enables an electrostatic field generating plate to be produced made from PVC for a water purification system wherein the plate generates an electric field.

A server-based method is provided for updating a presentation in an event driven, thin client device, comprising the steps of detecting a new presentation event; and sending a notification call to the client device containing information related to the presentation event to be recorded in a data model on the client device. A client-based method is provided for updating a presentation in an event driven, thin client device, comprising the steps of receiving a new presentation event from an application controller on an application server; and updating a local data model on the client device with information related to the presentation event. In addition, the presentation on the client device can optionally be updated based on the information related to the presentation event.

Method and apparatus for maintaining state information in an event driven thin client environment

We previously described a novel in vitro model of a non-productive herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection in neurally-differentiated (ND)-PC12 cells that allows for inducible virus replication upon forskolin and heat stress (HS) treatment. In this research, we further characterized the model with respect to HSV-2 strain 333. We found that: (i) ND-PC12 cells are non-permissive to HSV-2 replication; (ii) HSV-2 can establish a quiescent infection, like HSV-1, in ND-PC12 cells with the transient use of acycloguanosine (ACV); however unlike HSV-1, anti-viral conditions are not obligatory to establish and maintain a quiescent state; (iii) the quiescent state is maintained in the presence of Vero cell cocultivation indicating that such cultures are free of infectious virus; and (iv) a high percentage of quiescently infected (QIF)-PC 12 cell cultures (80-100%) produce HSV-2 in response to forskolin and HS (43&deg; C., 3 h) treatment for as long as 4 weeks post infection. These findings indicate that ND-PC12 cells can harbor HSV-2 in a cryptic and non-productive state that is reversible. This model has appealing features for studying gene expression during the establishment, maintenance and reactivation phases of the HSV-2 quiescent state in cell culture. (2000) 6, 296-302.

Neuronal cell model and methods of use thereof

An apparatus and method for initially bringing together and thereafter delivering an aligned set of magnets easily separable into sets of 4 or higher in even numbers. While magnetic units are effective in magnetic therapy where a relatively flat surface is to be applied toward the skin surface, the side by side arrangement of magnets with a cross section substantially greater than the thickness results in attractive and repulsive forces in the four magnet magnetic unit such that the set is easily fragmented after bringing them together unless the unit is immediately supportively encapsulated. Such encapsulation includes sealed polymer envelopes with sufficient lateral and torsional rigidity to keep the magnets in the unit in the desired square planar arrangement instead of stacking, overlapping or flipping polar sides while at the same time having planar flexibility to be applied to undulating skin surfaces so that the skin side face of the individual magnets are substantially normal to the skin surface to deliver a maximum Gaussian field.
