Vehicle profiles allow drivers of vehicles to select any vehicle they desire to simulate. A graphical dashboard may be reconfigured to assume a graphical interface of any vehicle. A prospective buyer of an electric vehicle may configure the dashboard of a conventional, internal combustion vehicle to visually simulate an electric vehicle.

A radio tag comprising a first radio and a second radio and a method for providing a communications service are disclosed. For example, the method comprises entering, by a processor of the radio tag, an active state of the radio tag and activating the second radio when a wake-up signal is received, where the second radio draws power from a power source, transmitting, by the processor of the radio tag, data to a device or receiving the data from the device when the radio tag is in the active state, and deactivating, by the processor of the radio tag, the second radio and entering an idle state when the wake-up signal is no longer being received, where only the first radio draws power from the power source for listening for the wake-up signal in the idle state.

Method and apparatus for providing a communications service using a low powered radio tag

Limiting data transmission under lossy wireless conditions of an Internet of Things (IoT) wireless device to facilitate a reduction of wireless retransmissions of such data is presented herein. A method can comprise determining a characteristic of a radio frequency channel wirelessly coupling a wireless device to an access point device that has been configured to transfer data, which has been received from the wireless device, to a host device; and in response to the characteristic of the radio frequency channel being determined to satisfy a defined condition representing a degradation of a fidelity of the radio frequency channel, modifying, based on a determined classification of outbound data of the data that has been directed to the host device, a transmission of the outbound data to facilitate a reduction in wireless retransmissions of the outbound data due to the degradation of the fidelity of the radio frequency channel.

A method, computer-readable storage device and apparatus for exchanging vehicle information are disclosed. For example, the method receives the vehicle information from a second vehicle, wherein the vehicle information is received via a direct vehicle to vehicle communication, calculates an operating parameter of the second vehicle, determines an alert condition based on the operating parameter of the second vehicle, and provides a notification of the alert condition to a driver of the first vehicle.

Method, computer-readable storage device and apparatus for exchanging vehicle information

Wireless communication is facilitated via communication assembly apparatuses. A system includes: a wireless gateway device located within a housing and having electrical connection elements for power and network connectivity; and an antenna coupled to the housing and electrically coupled to the wireless gateway device. The housing is adapted to be masked on a surface of a support structure exposed to a defined environment, and is configured to serve a first function and the support structure is configured to serve a second function. The first function is distinct from the second function. In various embodiments, the antenna can be a resonant slot antenna, a horn antenna, a dipole antenna, a patch antenna or a custom antenna element. The wireless gateway device can include circuitry that facilitates multiple-input and multiple-output communication of the antenna, and is configured to be powered via power over Ethernet in some embodiments. In various embodiments, the support structure can include, but is not limited to, a hand rail, a stage scaffold, a lamp post and/or a trash can.
