The disclosure relates polyoxometalate complexes and uses in the management, treatment, or prevention of cancer. In certain embodiments, the polyoxometalate complexes comprise polydentate oxygen bridging ligands such as those of the following formula: [POM{(OCH)CX}], [MO{(OCH)CX}], [VO{(OCH)CX}], salts, or derivatives thereof wherein POM is a polyoxometalate, M is a metal, and X is defined herein. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising polyoxometalate complexes disclosed herein.

The disclosure relates polyoxometalate complexes and uses in the management, treatment, or prevention of cancer. Polyoxometalate complexes and uses in managing cancer

This disclosure relates to polymers and polymer compositions having monomer units of polyoxometalates and monomer units comprising hydroxy-terminated molecules such as branched molecules or dendrimers and uses in degradation, decontamination, and deodorization. In certain embodiments, the hydroxy-terminated branched molecules or dendrimers comprise terminal 1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl or 1,1,1-tris(hydroxyalkyl)methyl groups. In certain embodiments, the hydroxy-terminated molecule is N,N',N&#x2033;-tris[tris(hydroxymethyl) methyl]-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxamide.

Polymers of polyoxometalates and hydroxy-terminated monomer units and uses in degrading noxious agents

Homogeneous water oxidation catalysts (WOCs) for the oxidation of water to produce hydrogen ions and oxygen, and methods of making and using thereof are described herein. In a preferred embodiment, the WOC is a polyoxometalate WOC which is hydrolytically stable, oxidatively stable, and thermally stable. The WOC oxidized waters in the presence of an oxidant. The oxidant can be generated photochemically, using light, such as sunlight, or electrochemically using a positively biased electrode. The hydrogen ions are subsequently reduced to form hydrogen gas, for example, using a hydrogen evolution catalyst (HEC). The hydrogen gas can be used as a fuel in combustion reactions and/or in hydrogen fuel cells. The catalysts described herein exhibit higher turn over numbers, faster turn over frequencies, and/or higher oxygen yields than prior art catalysts.

Water oxidation catalysts and methods of use thereof

This disclosure relates to photocatalytic polyoxometalate compositions of tungstovanadates and uses as water oxidation catalysts. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to compositions comprising water, a complex of a tetra-metal oxide cluster and VWOligands, and a photosensitizer. Typically, the metal oxide cluster is Co. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to electrodes and other devices comprising water oxidation catalysts disclosed herein and uses in generating fuels and electrical power from solar energy.

Compositions, materials incorporating the compositions, and methods of use thereof, are disclosed. In one embodiment, the composition includes a metal nitrate selected from d-block metal nitrates and f-block metal nitrates and a metal salt having weakly bound counter anions. The metal of the metal salt having weakly bound counter anions is selected from a d-block metal and an f-block metal. Another embodiment of the composition includes a first polyoxometalate having a first metal selected from a d-block metal and an f-block metal and a second polyoxometalate having a second metal selected from a d-block metal and an f-block metal. The first metal being an open coordinate site of the first polyoxometalate. In addition, the first metal has a nitrate terminal ligand. The second metal being an open coordinate site of the second polyoxometalate. In addition, the second metal has a halide terminal ligand.

Compositions, materials incorporating the compositions, and methods of using the compositions, and methods of using the compositions and materials

Briefly described, compositions, materials including the compositions, methods of using the compositions, and methods of degrading contaminants, are described herein. The composition can include a polyoxometalate/ cationic silica material. In addition, the compositions can be made of a polyoxometalate/cationic silica material, a copper (II) salt having a weakly bound anion, and a nitrate salts. Further, the compositions can be made of a polyoxometalate/cationic silica material, a copper (II) salt having a weakly bound anion, a compound selected from tetraethylammonium (TEA) nitrate, tetra-n-butylammonium (TBA) nitrate, and combinations thereof.

Materials for degrading contaminants

Polyoxometalate topical compositions for removing contaminants from an environment and methods of use thereof are disclosed. An embodiment of the polyoxometalate topical composition includes a topical carrier and at least one polyoxometalate, with the proviso that the polyoxometalate is not HPVMoO; KSi(HO)MnWO; KSi(HO)MnWO; or KCoWO. Another embodiment relates to a method for removing a contaminant from an environment, including contacting the polyoxometalate topical composition with the environment containing the contaminant for a sufficient time to remove the contaminant from the environment. An additional embodiment relates to a modified material for removing a contaminant from an environment, wherein the modified material includes (1) a material comprising a topical carrier, a powder, a coating, or a fabric, and (2) a metal compound including a transition metal compound, an actinide compound, a lanthanide compound, or a combination thereof, wherein the metal compound is not a polyoxometalate.

The invention relates to a polyoxometalate topical composition for removing a contaminant from an environment, comprising a topical carrier and at least one polyoxometalate, with the proviso that the polyoxometalate is not H PV Mo O ; K Si(H O)Mn W O ; K Si(H O)Mn W O ; or K Co W O The invention further relates to a method for removing a contaminant from an environment, comprising contacting the polyoxometalate topical composition of the present invention with the environment containing the contaminant for a sufficient time to remove the contaminant from the environment. The invention further relates to a modified polyoxometalate, wherein the modified polyoxometalate comprises the admixture of (1) a polyoxometalate and (2) a cerium compound, a silver compound, a gold compound, a platinum compound, or a combination thereof. The invention further relates to a method for removing a contaminant from an environment, comprising contacting a modified material with the environment containing the contaminant for a sufficient time to remove the contaminant from the environment, wherein the modified material comprises (1) a material and (2) a metal compound comprising a transition metal compound, an actinide compound, a lanthanide compound, or a combination thereof, wherein the metal compound is not a polyoxometalate. The invention further relates to an article comprising the modified material of the present invention.
