Techniques for ability enhancement are described. In some embodiments, devices and systems located in a transportation network share threat information with one another, in order to enhance a user's ability to operate or function in a transportation-related context. In one embodiment, a process in a vehicle receives threat information from a remote device, the threat information based on information about objects or conditions proximate to the remote device. The process then determines that the threat information is relevant to the safe operation of the vehicle. Then, the process modifies operation of the vehicle based on the threat information, such as by presenting a message to the operator of the vehicle and/or controlling the vehicle itself.

A system for detecting a type of stroke includes a processing circuit. The processing circuit is configured to receive heart data regarding a heart rhythm of a patient and physiological data regarding a physiological characteristic of the patient. The heart data is indicative of an occurrence of atrial fibrillation and the physiological data is indicative of an occurrence of a stroke. The processing circuit is further configured to determine a likelihood that the stroke was an embolic stroke based on the heart data and to provide an output including an indication of the likelihood that the stroke was an embolic stroke.

A hands-free intercom may include a user-tracking sensor, a directional microphone, a directional sound emitter, a display device, and/or a communication interface. The user-tracking sensor may determine a location of a user so the directional microphone can measure vocal emissions by the user and the directional sound emitter can deliver audio to the user. The hands-free intercom may provide privacy to the user. The hands-free intercom may prevent an eavesdropper from hearing the user's vocal emissions, for example, by canceling the vocal emissions at the eavesdropper's ear. The directional sound emitter may deliver out-of-phase sound to cancel the vocal emissions. The hands-free intercom may also, or instead, cancel ambient noise at the user's ear. The hands-free intercom may measure or predict a filtration of the sound to be canceled and compensate for the filtration when canceling the sound.

Systems and methods for positioning a user of a hands-free intercommunication

Methods and systems for determining a physiological parameter of a subject through interrogation of an eye of the subject with an optical signal are described. Interrogation is performed unobtrusively. The physiological parameter is determined from a signal sensed from the eye of a subject when the eye of the subject is properly aligned with regard to an interrogation signal source and/or response signal sensor.

Techniques for ability enhancement are described. Some embodiments provide an ability enhancement facilitator system ('AEFS') configured to enhance a user's ability to operate or function in a transportation-related context as a pedestrian or a vehicle operator. In one embodiment, the AEFS is configured perform vehicular threat detection based on information received at a road-based device, such as a sensor or processor that is deployed at the side of a road. An example AEFS receives, at a road-based device, information about a first vehicle that is proximate to the road-based device. The AEFS analyzes the received information to determine threat information, such as that the vehicle may collide with the user. The AEFS then informs the user of the determined threat information, such as by transmitting a warning to a wearable device configured to present the warning to the user.

Determining threats based on information from road-based devices in a transportation-related context

A non-contacting inductive interconnect of a three-dimensional integrated circuit includes a first silicon substrate having a first inductive loop. A first layer of high permeability material is deposited on the first silicon substrate that has the first inductive loop forming a first high permeability structure. The circuit further includes a second silicon substrate having a second inductive loop. A magnetic coupling is formed between the first inductive loop and the second inductive loop. The first high permeability structure can enhance the magnetic coupling between the first inductive loop and the second inductive loop. In some embodiments, a second layer of the high permeability material is deposited on the second silicon substrate that has the second inductive loop forming a second high permeability structure. The first high permeability structure and the second high permeability structure can form a magnetic circuit coupling the first inductive loop and the second inductive loop.

Non-contacting inductive interconnects

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for using compressed sensing for imaging an object for use in combination with an entertainment or infotainment device. For example, the system may utilize a few&#x2014;(e.g., 1, 2, 3 . . . ) pixel imaging sensor to obtain coarse image data from each of a plurality of subregions of a region of interest. Compressed sensing techniques may then be used to estimate a higher resolution image of the region of interest using the coarse image data from the plurality of subregions.

Systems and methods for utilizing compressed sensing in an entertainment system

A power supply system for a data center includes a cooling circuit, an electrochemical power generator, a sensor, and a processor. The cooling circuit includes a fluid configured to receive heat energy generated by a server located in the data center. The electrochemical power generator is configured to receive and/or generate the fluid of the cooling circuit and to generate electrical energy for the server using the fluid. The sensor is configured to obtain data regarding the server. The processor is configured to control an amount of heat energy transferred from the server to the fluid based on the data.
