Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for tag-based security policy creation in a distributed computing environment. A security management module can receive an inventory event that relates to instantiation of a service. The security management module can identify the service that was instantiated and obtain a tag set that relates to the service. The tag set can include security tags that include a string that identifies a communications link associated with the entities included in the service that was instantiated. The security management module can identify policy rules associated with the security tags. The policy rules can define security for the service that was instantiated. The security management module can compute a security policy for the service and can provide the security policy to the computing environment for implementation.

Tag-based security policy creation in a distributed computing environment

Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing and using a connection management service. A connection management service can receive a connection request that requests a connection between a requestor and a distributed network. The connection management service can identify a connector to provide the connection between the requestor and the distributed network. The connection management service can provide, to the requestor, an object corresponding to the connector. The requestor can invoke the object to connect to the distributed network.

Connection management service

Methods for managing, and utilizing connections between an application server and an enterprise information system (EIS) based on a Daytona architecture are provided. The methods may include operating a resource adapter conforming to the JCA standard, and interfacing with and being managed by the application server. The resource adapter may be configured to provide a connection to the EIS and to submit a query request to and receive query results from the EIS, including receiving the query request from a client; instructing the EIS to open a query, compile the query, execute the query, and return the results of the execution of the query; receiving the results of the execution of the query from the EIS; instructing the EIS to terminate the connection; and returning the results of the execution of the query to the client. Related systems and computer program products are also provided.
