A system and method for displaying an image of an object of interest located at an incident scene. The method includes receiving, from the image capture device, a first video stream of the incident scene, and displaying the video stream. The method includes receiving an input indicating a pixel location in the video stream, and detecting the object of interest in the video stream based on the pixel location. The method includes determining an object class, an object identifier, and metadata for the object of interest. The metadata includes the object class, an object location, an incident identifier corresponding to the incident scene, and a time stamp. The method includes receiving an annotation input for the object of interest, and associating the annotation input and the metadata with the object identifier. The method includes storing, in a memory, the object of interest, the annotation input, and the metadata.

System and method for displaying objects of interest at an incident scene

A process for interfacing with an electronic communications device including a single input interface (SII) for accessing an electronic digital assistant and voice control includes detecting a first activation of the SII, and responsively playing back a first audio feedback indicative of activation of a voice input function. Then monitoring for one of two or more pre-configured voice control keywords, a first associated with a local electronic communications device function and a second associated with initiating a particular infrastructure-based electronic digital assistant function. When the first, playing back a second audio feedback indicative of acknowledgement of a local device function, and performing the local device function; when the second, playing back, a third audio feedback indicative of acknowledgement of a infrastructure-based electronic digital assistant function, and performing the infrastructure-based electronic digital assistant function.

A communication system () provides a portable radio () that retrieves public safety records in response to a verbal query entered thereto. The communication system () includes a bot gateway () for accessing and retrieving the public safety records from a plurality of remote public safety databases in response to the verbal query entered into the portable radio. The bot gateway () determines a criticality level for the retrieved public safety records. The bot gateway () temporarily stores the retrieved public safety records and sends a criticality code to the portable radio. The portable radio generates user alerts indicating the criticality level of the retrieved public safety records based on the code. The portable radio plays out the bot-retrieved search results in response to a further user input to the portable radio.

Voice interface alert management

A portable radio () provides a voice control feature which advantageously enables radio users to perform talk group changes by using voice as an input medium to the radio device. Activation of a voice control button () and verbal entry of a valid talk group control command enables a change in talk group. The portable radio () comprises a controller () having a code plug () pre-programmed with a plurality of talk group alias names, and an automatic speech recognition (ASR) engine () providing voice control entry detection to the portable radio. The controller () enables a change in talk group in response to the ASR engine () detecting that the voice control entry is a valid talk group control command. Shortened audible confirmations of talk group change are generated using the alias names.

A battery-operated communication device for temporary hands-free voice interaction may include a microphone that is configured to receive sound and a processor that is communicatively coupled to the microphone and is configured to receive a first trigger to enable hands-free operation, initiate hands-free operation, receive audio input using the microphone, compare a portion of the audio input to one or more predetermined audio commands, determine whether the portion corresponds to a matching command of the predetermined audio commands, and process the matching command based on a determination that the portion corresponds to the matching command. The first trigger may correspond to a remote user request, an event location, a location condition, or any combination of a remote user request, event location, and location condition.

Method and apparatus for temporary hands-free voice interaction

A method and apparatus for intelligently alerting individuals within a public-safety communication system is provided herein. During operation a query result is determined to have certain keywords. When this happens, prior conversations of individuals over various talkgroups are analyzed. The query terms and/or the query result are compared to the prior conversations, and a determination is made if any prior conversations are relevant to the query terms and/or the query results. If so, identities are determined for those individuals who were involved in the relevant prior conversations, and a notification of the results of the query are sent to electronic devices associated with the individuals who were involved in the relevant prior conversations.

Intelligent alerting of individuals in a public-safety communication system

A method and server for determining the current location of a person of interest (POI) is provided. The server receives a first indication that a first searcher has identified a POI and requests first route information from the first searcher. Upon receiving the first route information from the first searcher, the server determines if second route information relating to the person of interest has been received from a second searcher. If so, the server determines a search area for the person of interest based at least in part upon the first route information and the second route information.

When the received textual term, are phonetically similar to one or more existing textual terms, the controller: generates one or more suggested textual terms, related to the received textual term, that minimizes phonetic similarities with the one or more existing textual terms; and causes an output device to provide an indication of the one or more suggested textual terms to use in place of the received textual term.

A process for identifying a person, object, or entity (POE) of interest outside of a moving vehicle includes first receiving, from a camera coupled to the vehicle, a video stream having a field-of-view (FOV) of an area surrounding the vehicle. A first trigger is detected associated with a vehicle occupant's indicated desire to capture a portion of the video stream. A selected FOV sub-portion of the video stream less than then an entire captured FOV of the video stream is identified as a function of the trigger or a separate electronic sensor input. A second trigger is detected indicative of the vehicle occupant's indicated desire to stop capturing the portion of the video stream. The video stream is then sub-selected in time and FOV as a function of the foregoing to create a second modified video stream and provided to a target device for display.

System and method for identifying a person, object, or entity (POE) of interest outside of a moving vehicle

A process for improved real-time conflict identification and resolution, and information corroboration, during an interrogation relative to an incident includes capturing a first real-time digital audio or video stream from a first interviewee under interrogation by a first interviewer relative to an incident. The first real-time digital audio or video stream is converted to a first digital text string, which is then semantically processed to identify and store first information relative to the incident. Stored second information created via interrogation of a second interviewee under interrogation relative to the incident is accessed, and a conflict between the stored first information and the stored second information is identified. A visual or audio prompt is generated associated with the conflict and an indication of the conflict is played back via the visual or audio prompt to the first interviewer.

A method and apparatus for controlling an electronic device using a rotary control. The method includes receiving, by an electronic processor from an inductance sensor, a first inductance. The method further includes comparing, by the electronic processor, the first inductance to a first threshold. The method further includes, determining, by the electronic processor, a location for the rotary control when the first inductance exceeds the first threshold, the method further includes activating, by the electronic processor, a control function based on the location. The method further includes receiving, by the electronic processor from the inductance sensor, a second inductance. The method further includes determining, by the electronic processor, a delta based on the first inductance and the second inductance. The method further includes adjusting, by the electronic processor, the control function based on the delta.
