A method for compacting trash while in-flight includes moving a storage chamber into a chamber operating position within a dead space inaccessible from in front of a galley, securing the storage chamber in the chamber operating position, executing a compaction cycle, and removing the storage chamber into a chamber maintenance position in which compacted trash is removable from the storage chamber accessible from in front of the galley.

Space-saving in-flight trash compactor

A space-saving in-flight trash compactor, comprising a trash chute, a compactor mechanism, and a storage chamber that includes an interface for the trash chute. Trash deposited in the trash chute is channeled into the storage chamber. Either or both of the compactor mechanism and the storage chamber are rotatably attached to one or two axles. During maintenance or trash removal, the compactor mechanism or storage chamber may swivel around an axle to permit ease of access.

A galley unit with a cart lift is provided for elevated storage of a food and beverage cart. The galley unit includes a mounting rack configured for mounting at least one first galley component thereon. The cart lift includes a platform for supporting a second galley component thereon. The platform is movable between a fully lowered, fully extended position and a fully raised, fully retracted position with the second galley component supported thereon. A support pillar is positioned to one side of the mounting rack and is operable to support and manipulate the platform in a fore-and-aft motion between a fully extended position and a fully retracted position, and in an up-and-down motion between a fully lowered position and a fully raised position. The support pillar may include an operator controlled passive lifting system for assisting manipulation of the platform.

Galley unit with cart lift for elevated cart storage

A foldable galley cart including a plurality of frame members that are hinged together to form an expandable frame, a flexible material attached to and carried by the frame that forms a generally rectangular-shaped, open-topped bin when the frame is in an expanded configuration, at least one set of wheels rotatably attached to the frame, and a handle attached to the frame. A collapsible galley cart for serving food containers during a flight that is collapsible so that it may be readily stored within a compartment of an aircraft galley unit between uses.

Folding cart for galley

A modular integrated galley used for food preparation and storage in a passenger vehicle includes a mounting rack defining a plurality of openings or spaces and having a plurality of structural mounting points disposed within the spaces for receiving a plurality of individual galley modules. Each of the galley modules including a generally box-like outer shell having top, bottom, front, rear, and side walls. At least two of the galley modules having a different functional component contained within the outer shell that is selected from the group consisting of a beverage maker, a water dispensing unit, an oven, a refrigerator and a storage compartment. The modular integrated galley further including means for interconnecting adjacent galley modules including an elongate connecting rail defining an outer perimeter having at least two slots formed along the outer perimeter for receiving complimentary ribs on adjacent galley modules.
