An apparatus and method of locating a wireless power transmitter in which a variable load coupled to a wireless power receiver configured to receive a wireless power signal from the wireless power transmitter is controllably varied to maintain a harvested voltage of the wireless power signal within a predetermined range. By doing so, power supplied to a wirelessly powered appliance coupled to the wireless power receiver is maintained within an operational envelope of the wirelessly powered appliance.

An electrical power distribution system includes a plurality of circuit protection devices coupled between an electrical power source and a plurality of electrical loads. Each circuit protection device includes a trip unit, a network interface communicatively coupled to a communication network including the circuit protection devices, a processor, and a memory. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to store test operational parameters associated with the circuit protection device, receive a test message including test data representing an electrical condition in the electrical power distribution system, adjust the test operational parameters based on the test data to simulate a response of the trip unit to the electrical condition, generate circuit protection data based on the test data and the adjusted set of test operational parameters, and transmit the circuit protection data to at least one of the communication network and a remote access device.

The controller may be configured to initiate a sterilizing operation. The sterilizing operation may include directing activation of the indoor fan to motivate air through the indoor portion, detecting activation of the indoor fan to motivate air through the indoor portion, and directing activation of the sterilization light assembly to transmit an ultraviolet light emission within the indoor portion based on detected activation of the indoor fan.

An air conditioner unit may include a housing, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, a compressor, a sterilization light assembly, and a controller. The controller may be configured to initiate a sterilizing operation. The sterilizing operation may include receiving a first command signal and directing activation of the sterilization light assembly at a first active intensity level for transmission of ultraviolet light emissions within the indoor portion in response to receiving the first command signal. The sterilizing operation may further include receiving a second command signal following the first command signal and directing activation of the sterilization light assembly at a second active intensity level for transmission of ultraviolet light emissions within the indoor portion in response to receiving the second command signal. The second active intensity level may be different from the first active intensity level.

The cabinet may define an outdoor portion and an indoor portion. The outdoor heat exchanger may be disposed in the outdoor portion. The indoor heat exchanger may be disposed in the indoor portion. The compressor may be in fluid communication with the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger to circulate a refrigerant therebetween. The controller may be in operative communication with the compressor. The controller may be configured to initiate a conditioning operation. The conditioning operation may include receiving a demand response signal corresponding to electric power access, determining occupancy of an indoor environment, and initiating a responsive conditioning cycle in response to receiving the demand response signal, the responsive conditioning cycle being based on the determined occupancy.

The sterilization light assembly may include a support board, an ultraviolet C (UVC) light source, and a lens casing. The lens casing may be disposed over the support board and seal the UVC light source to prevent moisture from contacting the UVC light source.

The conditioning operation may still further include recording an operational variable based on the measured performance at the first operating mode, comparing the operational variable of the first operating mode to the baseline variable of the first operating mode, determining a fault state based on the comparison, and recording the fault state.

The method includes transmitting, by each circuit protection device of the plurality of circuit protection devices, an electrical current communication to the communication network, the electrical current communication including an indication of an electrical current detected by the transmitting circuit protection device formatted according to a network communication protocol of the communication network. The additional circuit protection device receives the electrical current communications from the plurality of circuit protection devices and determines, based on the received electrical current communications, whether a ground fault condition exists in the electrical power distribution system.

A method of operating an electrical power distribution system including circuit protection devices is disclosed. Each circuit protection device includes a network interface, a processor, and a memory device. The method includes transmitting, by each device of the plurality of circuit protection devices, a network communication signal to the communication network. An approximate physical distance between the circuit protection devices is determined based at least in part on a characteristic of the network communication signals. A maintenance mode of each circuit protection device of a subset of the circuit protection devices is enabled in response to enablement of a maintenance mode of one circuit protection device of the plurality of circuit protection devices. The subset of the circuit protection devices is determined at least in part by the approximate physical distance of the circuit protection devices from the maintenance mode enabled one circuit protection device.

Power distribution systems and methods of performing zone selective interlocking in power distribution systems with a communication network

A circuit protection device for an electrical distribution system includes a trip unit, a network interface, a processor, and a memory device. The trip unit is configured to selectively trip to prevent a flow of electrical current through the circuit protection device. The network interface is configured for communicative coupling to a communication network. The memory device stories instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to transmit, using the network interface, zones selective interlocking (ZSI) data to another circuit protection device coupled to the communication network. The ZSI data is formatted according to a network communication protocol of the communication network.
