A method of controlling access at a vehicle to information communicated over a vehicle bus includes: storing one or more electronic control unit (ECU) identities in a central gateway module (CGM) that is communicatively linked with a vehicle bus; associating one or more message permissions for receiving messages via the vehicle bus with one of the ECU identities in the CGM that represents an ECU communicatively linked with the vehicle bus; wirelessly receiving a computer-readable instruction at the vehicle directing the CGM to change one or more message permissions associated with the ECU identity; and storing the changed message permissions in the CGM.

Dynamic vehicle bus subscription

A method of configuring an acoustics system of a convertible vehicle to receive speech from an occupant of the vehicle who is using hand-free technology. The position of the top of the convertible is first determined and based upon whether the top is up or down, an audio reception configuration is selected. The audio reception configuration includes a set of tuning parameters and a microphone arrangement. The acoustics system is then configured based upon the determination of whether the top is up or down.

Switching between acoustic parameters in a convertible vehicle

An entryway control and monitoring system includes a remote controller to open and close an entryway and a telematics unit. The remote controller and the telematics unit are each disposed in a vehicle. The system further includes any of i) a vehicle bus that operatively connects the remote controller to the telematics unit, or ii) respective short range wireless connection units disposed in each of the remote controller and the telematics unit that selectively operatively connect the remote controller and the telematics unit. Computer readable code embedded on a non-transitory, tangible computer readable medium is executable by a processor of the telematics unit to at least one of control or monitor an operation of the remote controller.

Entryway control and monitoring system

A method and apparatus which enables a vehicle to establish a wireless network connection to a dealership. Upon the vehicle discovering a dealership wireless node, the vehicle obtains dealership GPS coordinates and compares them to the vehicle's own GPS data to determine whether the vehicle is on the dealership's premises. If so, a WiFi connection is established. If not, the wireless node is ignored.
