A method and system for rate sensitive blanking in a path length control circuit of a gyroscope is provided. The method comprises determining an angular rate of the gyroscope, detecting a zero rate of the gyroscope where one or more single beam signals occur, and determining one or more blanker positions based on the zero rate. A blanker pulse is generated at the blanker positions such that the path length control circuit suspends operation when the one or more single beam signals occur.

An apparatus includes a sheet of circuit board material, at least one electrically conductive trace positioned on the sheet of circuit board material, and at least one electrically conductive contact pad positioned on the sheet of circuit board material and coupled to the at least one electrically conductive trace. The apparatus further includes at least one deformation point configured to absorb stresses developed in the sheet of circuit board material when the sheet of circuit board material experiences resistance to expansion or compression caused by connection to an object resisting expansion or compression.

Mitigation of block bending in a ring laser gyroscope caused by thermal expansion or compression of a circuit board

A gyroscope system comprises a gyroscope block having a plurality of cavities and a plurality of passages that define a path; a plurality of mirrors each located in one of the plurality of cavities; at least one mirror drive coupled to one of the plurality of mirrors and configured to change a position of the respective mirror, wherein the path's length is changed by the change in the position of the respective mirror; a dither system coupled to the gyroscope block and configured to induce an angular rotation of the gyroscope block; and a controller configured to provide a dither signal indicative of a dither frequency to the dither system and a path length control (PLC) signal indicative of a PLC frequency to the at least one mirror drive. The controller is configured to calculate the PLC frequency as a function of the dither frequency.

Variable path length control modulation frequency

Single beam signal (SBS) components of the laser intensity monitor (LIM) signal are blanked from the path length control circuit (PLC). The AC component of the LIM signal, less the SBS components, is then integrated to produce a transducer mirror drive signal. SBS component blanking is synchronized to the dither pick-off signal. Peak power operation of the PLC is enhanced through the removal of the SBS components from the LIM signal.

Single beam signal blanking for enhanced path length control in a ring laser gyro

Disclosed is a getter assembly for a gas discharge device in which the getter assembly consists of a snap-ring wherein the snap-ring includes a depression or trough for holding the getter material. The getter assembly is intended to be placed in an opening in a gas discharge device providing the function of a getter.
