Aspects described herein provide cap devices for dispensing a composition, the cap devices having chambers, shells, cutting elements, piercers, dust covers, and films. Methods of using the cap devices are also provided. The chambers or shells can contain a composition to be added to the container for consumption.

Cap device and methods

A tamper-indicating dispensing closure includes a closure body, and an associated flip-top lid pivotally connected to the closure body for movement between a closed position and an open position. The flip-top lid includes a tamper-indicating flange frangibly connected thereto, with the closure body including a pocket-like retention cavity within which the tamper-indicating flange is received during initial closing movement of the flip-top lid. During initial opening movement of the lid, the tamper-indicating flange is broken away from the flip-top lid, and thereafter permanently retained within the retention cavity to provide a clear, visual indication that the flip-top lid of the closure has been opened.

Tamper-indicating dispensing closure

A venting plastic closure for use with an associated container includes an outer plastic cap having a top wall portion and an annular depending skirt including an internal thread formation. A disc-shaped sealing liner is positioned on the inside surface of the top wall portion for creating a top/inside seal with the associated container. In order to facilitate venting of gas pressure from within the container, and to facilitate removal of the closure from the container by consumers, the closure includes one or more positive stop elements which engage the container after the sealing liner of the closure has been sealingly engaged therewith. The stop elements act to limit the degree of sealing engagement between the sealing lines of the closure and the finish of the closure.

Venting plastic closure

A stent ( ) formed from cannula and having flexible segments ( ) and high hoop strength segments ( ) alternating therealong. Axial tie bars ( ) interconnect the segments; minimal length reduction would occur upon expansion. In the high hoop strength segment ( ), struts ( ) are initially parallel in the unexpanded strut condition, while in the flexible segment ( ), struts ( ) extend from a respective bight ( ) to converge at distal ends when unexpanded. In one embodiment, certain adjacent struts ( ) of the hoop segment are spaced apart by a large gap ( ) while others are spaced apart by a small gap ( ). In another embodiment all the struts ( ) of the hoop segment are spaced apart uniformly from each other (or from an axial tie bar) by a small gap ( ), resulting in minimizing the occurrence of fatigue of high-stress sites upon expansion/contraction cycles from continuous pulsatile events.

Cannula stent

A self-sealing, dispensing closure comprises a shell, a cover moveable axially toward and away from the shell, and a valve connected to the cover via a stem, and adapted to close the outlet when the cover is moved away from the shell and to open the outlet when the cover is moved toward the shell. The shell has a generally conical surface. The cover has a resilient skirt, which is discontinuous. The skirt engages the surface to bias the cover away from the shell and to bias the valve toward the closing position but to permit the cover to move toward the shell and to permit the valve to move away from the closing position. The shell and the cover have formations coactive to prevent the cover from being moved toward the shell and the valve from being moved away from the closing position at certain but not all positions of relative rotation of the shell and the cover.

Container closure

A radially expandable stent (,) made from a cannula or sheet of biocompatible material that includes at least one longitudinal segment (,) comprised of a series of laterally interconnected closed cells (,). Each closed cell of a longitudinal segment is defined laterally by a pair of longitudinal struts (,) that are interconnected at each end by a circumferentially adjustable member (,). When the stent is expanded using a balloon (,), the opposing circumferentially adjustable members deform to allow circumferential expansion of the longitudinal segment, while the length of the segment, as defined by the longitudinal struts, is maintained. Self-expanding versions of the stent utilize a nickel-titanium alloy. Adjacent longitudinal segments are joined by flexible interconnection segments (,) that permit the stent to bend laterally. The flexible interconnection segment is comprised of curvilinear struts (,) that form a series of serpentine bends (,) that distribute lateral bending forces. In a preferred embodiment, a short strut interconnects longitudinal segments and an adjacent interconnection segment. Each interconnection strut attaches to the longitudinal segment within a region (,) at the end (,) of a longitudinal strut (,) dividing two adjacent closed cells.
