A wood-type golf club head includes an angled weight assembly with an adjustable weight disposed within a weight channel. The adjustable weight assembly is positioned at an angle relative to a ground plane to reduce and redirect bending of the golf club head at impact. The reduction and redirection of bending decreases and redirects stress applied to the weight channel at impact to reduce resultant oscillations of the weight channel, which in turn reduces support material for the weight assembly and increases discretionary mass.

Embodiments of golf club heads with energy storage characteristics are presented herein. In some embodiments, a golf club head comprises a hollow body comprising a strikeface, a heel region, a toe region opposite the heel region, a sole, a crown, and a cavity positioned behind the strikeface on at least one of the sole and the crown. In many embodiments, the cavity comprises a front surface, and a rear surface, wherein at least a portion of the front surface extends toward the strikeface of the club head.

Described herein are embodiments of an iron-type golf club head comprising a rear opening and an insert. The insert either partially or fully occupies the club head interior cavity. The insert damps vibrations occurring within the club head at impact to provide a desirable sound and feel. The insert is formed of a low-density material, thereby providing a significant damping effect while also creating discretionary mass.

Described herein is a golf club head comprising a composite material, the golf club head further comprising: a front end having a bottom rail, a top rail, and a strikeface, the strikeface including a striking surface, a back surface, and a reinforcement element extending from the back surface of the strikeface; a rear end opposite the front end; a heel portion; a toe portion opposite the heel portion; a sole coupled to the front end along the bottom rail at a sole transition region, the sole extending toward the rear end of the golf club head and including a sole thickness, a first weight member and a second weight member, and a perimeter wall extending from the front end near the heel portion to the front end near the toe portion along the rear end of the golf club head, wherein the perimeter wall decreases in height from the front end toward the rear end of the golf club head.

The weight with two or more parts described herein provides a series of interchangeable parts of the overall weight to increase or decrease the weight to specific integers of weight. The two or more parts can comprise a first part with a first specific gravity and a second part with a second specific gravity. Some embodiments include club heads having reinforced club head faces. In one example, the club head comprises a variable face thickness profile with thickened and thinned regions. The face includes a thinned perimeter region positioned near a perimeter of the face, and a thickened central region positioned over a geometric center of the face. The club head further comprises a 360 undercut that extends along the entire perimeter of the face. The club head further comprises one or more reinforcement ribs to improve the frequency response during golf ball impacts. The combination of the thinned perimeter region, thickened central region, and 360 undercut reinforces the club head while permitting the face to bend. Other embodiments of related club heads and methods are also disclosed.

Disclosed herein is a hollow golf club head comprising a first component adhered to a second component. The first component comprises: a crown return and a sole return extending rearwardly from the strikeface, a sole extension extending rearwardly from the sole return and forming a portion of the sole, a back rail connected to the sole extension, a skirt connected to the back rail, and a rib positioned on an interior surface of the golf club head. The crown return forms a portion of the crown. The sole return forms a portion of the sole. The rib comprises a lower front end point, a lower rear end point, an upper rear end point, a bottom edge and a top edge. The rib height varies between the lower front end point and the lower rear end point. The rib extends from channel configured to receive a weight portion, to the crown.

A golf club head including a face element having a face surface, a rear surface, and a reinforcement device with a reinforcement element that extends out from the rear surface of the face element toward a rear end and away from a front end of a golf club head. The reinforcement element includes a looped rib having an outer perimeter surface and an inner perimeter surface. The face surface is nearer to the rear surface proximal to the face center than proximal to the face perimeter. The outer perimeter surface of the reinforcement element is filleted with the rear surface.
