A device for modifying the shape of a mitral valve annulus. In one embodiment, the device includes a connector disposed between first and second anchors, the first and second anchors each adapted to be deployed in a coronary sinus adjacent the mitral valve annulus to anchor the device in the coronary sinus; and an actuation element adapted to receive a proximally or distally directed actuation force from an actuator and to transmit the actuation force to the first and second anchors simultaneously. The invention also includes a system for modifying the shape of a mitral valve annulus, including a percutaneous deployment apparatus, including an actuator; and a percutaneous mitral valve annuloplasty device with a connector disposed between first and second anchors, the first and second anchors each adapted to be deployed in a coronary sinus adjacent the mitral valve annulus to anchor the device in the coronary sinus; and an actuation element adapted to receive a distally proximally directed actuation force from the actuator and to transmit the actuation force to the first and second anchors simultaneously. The invention also includes a method of using such devices and systems.

A system and method of controlling the pressure within a surgical tourniquet so as selectively to occlude blood flow within a portion of a limb of a patient, wherein the pressure within an inflatable cuff surrounding a portion of a limb of a patient is changed by automatically opening a first valve connected to a controller and located within a first conduit between an inflatable bladder and the inflatable cuff, when the pressure in the inflatable cuff is different from that in the inflatable bladder. The present invention discloses a treadmill apparatus having a rotatable treadmill frame which includes a right side, a left side, a front end, and a back end. The treadmill includes a lift motor which is connected to the front end of the treadmill frame. A lift arm is also included which has a first end and a second end and is connected to the lift motor. There is a 'Y' shaped member having a one-pronged end and a two-pronged end. The one-pronged end is connected to the second end of the lift arm whereby the 'Y' shaped lift arm is extended by a force supplied to the lift arm by the lift motor. The treadmill also includes a back axle support which has a first end and a second end and also has two attachment points. The attachment points are connected to the two-pronged end of the 'Y' shaped member. The first end and second end of the back axle support are each connected to a swing arm, each swing arm being pivotly connected to the frame.

A folding treadmill is disclosed which includes a treadmill frame, a carriage connected to the treadmill frame, a lift motor mounted to the carriage, a lift screw connected to the lift motor, a lift arm connected to the lift screw which is extended by turning of the lift screw, and a swinging arm connected to the treadmill frame and to the lift arm. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the swinging arm controls the angular orientation of the treadmill frame with respect to the carriage. Further, a method of folding a treadmill is disclosed, including releasing a front axle mechanism connected between a treadmill frame having a front and a rear and a carriage, lifting the front axle mechanism, activating a motor mounted to the carriage to turn a lift screw, extending a lift arm connected to the lift screw by the turning of the lift screw, changing the angular orientation of a swinging arm connected to the rear of the treadmill frame by extending of the lift arm, and causing the rear of the treadmill frame connected to the swinging arm to lift upward from the carriage by extending of the lift arm.
