A cover for soft armor has a mantle extending from front waist to rear waist, with a head/neck opening and formed of an outer fabric layer and an inner liner secured to the outer fabric layer at particular locations. An additional liner is positioned between the outer fabric layer and the inner liner and secured to the inner liner to produce a sling along with the inner liner, positioned to receive and support portions of the soft armor at front and back of the mantle. The sling is openable and closable at a bottom of the sling for insertion of soft armor portions. At front and back the inner liner is split along a vertical center line providing for opening left and right portions upwardly and outwardly, for convenient loading of the armor.

A load-bearing garment, such as a vest, is provided having stretchable web platform on an outside surface, such as between front and back panels of the vest. The stretchable web platform includes stretchable bands that extend horizontally, and vertical webbing extending between multiple horizontal bands. Additional embodiments are directed to a mounting system in a plate carrier for a plate. Still further embodiments are directed to a handle and strap system for a vest or other garment that permits a quick rescue of a person wearing the vest.

A foldable knife, which can be a pocket knife, has a spine with a generally arcuate cutout or indentation, over which is secured a thumb bridge, leaving the indentation open between the spine and the bridge. To open the blade the user extends a thumb below the thumb bridge to pivot the blade out of a slot in the housing. With the blade fully opened, the thumb bridge provides an ergonomic engagement point for the thumb of the user when gripping the handle.

A belt buckle primarily for law enforcement or military personnel, for a relatively wide service belt, is of low profile, i.e. narrow from left to right so as to occupy minimal belt span to provide maximum space for equipment to be supported on the belt.

A padlock can be unlocked by an owner dialing an unlocking number or security personnel using a general key. The padlock includes a housing, a block, a shackle, a general locking device and a private locking device. The housing includes a first channel and a second channel therein. The block is inserted in the second channel. The block includes a receptacle therein. The shackle includes a long arm movably disposed in the first channel and a short arm for engagement with the receptacle of the block. The general locking device is disposed in the housing for locking and unlocking the long arm of the shackle. The private locking mechanism is disposed in the housing for controlling the block so that the block can be engaged with and disengaged from the short arm of the shackle.

Padlock

A padlock that can be unlocked by the owner of the padlock by dialing an unlocking number or by authorized security personals with a general key. The padlock mainly contains a lock body, a block, a shackle, a general locking device and a private locking device. The lock body has a first channel and a second channel therein. The block is engaged with the second channel. The block has a receptacle therein. The shackle has a longer arm slidably received in the first channel and a shorter arm engageable with the receptacle of the block. The general locking device is formed in the lock body for locking or unlocking the longer arm of the shackle. The private locking device is formed in the lock body for controlling movements of the block in order the block to be engaged with or disengaged from the shorter arm of the shackle.

A gun sling for carrying a rifle or shotgun is adjustable to serve either as a bungee sling or a fixed-length, non-stretch sling. In a preferred embodiment this is realized with a flexible sheath forming a portion of the sling, with a bungee cord or stretchable strap inside the sheath. With the bungee relaxed the sheath forms a non-stretchable but flexible portion of the sling. When the bungee cord is stretched and tensioned, the sheath gathers and shortens so that the bungee provides for a desired length of stretch.

A towing member for a piece of towable baggage is provide with towing handle that is pivotal relative to an arm portion of the towing member. The pivotal relation of the towing handle and the arm potion enables the towing handle to be rotated into a position where a person can grasp the towing handle in a comfortable position by his or her side when the piece of baggage is being towed. The pivotal relation of the towing handle and the arm potion also improves the maneuverability of a towable piece of baggage by reducing the need for a person to twist his or her wrist when steering the piece of baggage. The invention also allows the towing handle of retractable towing members to be pivoted into an appropriate position relative to the piece of baggage such that the towing handle lies flush with the baggage and will not become snagged on other items.
