A system for controlling harvesting implement operation of an agricultural harvester includes a harvesting implement defining a longitudinal axis extending between a forward end of the harvesting implement and an aft end of the harvesting implement. The harvesting implement is configured to be coupled to the agricultural harvester. Moreover, the harvesting implement includes a frame, a reel, and a cutter bar. A controller is configured to receive a first input indicating that a harvesting operation has ceased. Furthermore, the controller is configured to initiate a first adjustment to at least one of a fore/aft tilt angle defined between the longitudinal axis of the harvesting implement and a field surface, a position of the reel relative to the frame, or a position of the cutter bar relative to the frame upon receipt of the first input.

System and method for controlling harvesting implement operation of an agricultural harvester when a harvesting operation ceases

An agricultural system includes a header including a first header segment and a second header segment. The agricultural system also includes an actuator configured to adjust a position of the first header segment relative to the second header segment. The agricultural system also includes a controller configured to receive sensor information from a pressure sensor and compare the pressure to a threshold pressure. The sensor information may be indicative of a pressure within a cylinder of the actuator. The controller may be configured to send instructions to the actuator to adjust the first header segment relative to the second header segment in response to the pressure being below the pressure threshold.

An agricultural harvester includes a frame and a crop cleaning assembly supported on the frame. The crop cleaning assembly, in turn, includes an oscillating component configured to oscillate relative to the frame in a manner that conveys crop material across the oscillating component. Furthermore, the agricultural harvester includes a RADAR sensor configured to emit an output signal directed at the crop material present on the oscillating component and detect an echo signal reflected by the crop material present on the oscillating component. Additionally, the agricultural harvester includes a computing system communicatively coupled to the RADAR sensor. In this respect, the computing system is configured to determine a thickness of the crop material present on the oscillating component based on detected echo signal.

System and method for monitoring crop material thickness within an agricultural harvester

A combine harvester includes (i) a grain tank for storing separated grain and having a bottom end and a top end, and (ii) a grain tank level sensor array for detecting a level of grain in the grain tank. The grain tank level sensor array includes a plurality of sensors, wherein the grain tank level sensor array extends between the bottom end and the top end of the grain tank. The sensors are spaced apart between the bottom end and the top end. A spacing between adjacent sensors decreases in a direction towards the top end of the grain tank.

In an agricultural harvester header for an agricultural vehicle including a frame, a reel attached to the frame and having a plurality of reel tine bars, a cutterbar attached to the frame and positioned beneath the reel, an actuator for moving the reel tine bars between a deployed position and a retracted position, a sensor for sensing a position of the cutterbar, and a computer, a method for returning the reel tine bars to the deployed position includes (i) receiving, at the computer, signals from the sensor, (ii) recording a sensed position of the cutterbar when the actuator moves the reel tine bars to the retracted position, and (iii) activating the actuator to return the reel tine bars to the deployed position as a function of when the cutterbar returns to the recorded sensed position.

A harvester reel includes a reel tine bar having a follower and a tine. A cam assembly includes a primary cam, a linkage and a latch. The linkage has a first end that is connected to the primary cam and a second end that is connectable to the tine bar for guiding rotation of the tine bar. The latch selectively couples the second end of the linkage to the tine bar. In an unlatched configuration of the latch, the reel tine bar can pivot relative to the second end of the linkage, and in a latched configuration of the latch, the reel tine bar is non-rotatably connected to the second end of the linkage. A secondary cam has a surface that is configured to be contacted by the follower of the reel tine bar. Upon contacting the secondary cam, the follower moves the latch to the unlatched configuration.

An agricultural vehicle header having a center section and a wing section movably attached to the center section. A displacement sensor indicates a position of the wing section within its range of movement. A signal conditioning unit receives input from a displacement sensor that indicates the wing section position, an inboard height sensor, and an outboard height sensor, and applies correction factors to generate inboard and outboard control signals. When the wing section is in a median operating range the inboard correction factor is larger than the outboard correction factor. When the wing section is in a higher operating range, the outboard correction factor is larger than the inboard correction factor. A header of a harvester includes a header segment, a center section, an actuator coupling the header segment to the center section, and a controller. The header segment includes a cutter bar configured to cut crops and the header segment includes a first portion of a conveyor assembly. The center section includes a second portion of the conveyor assembly, in which the center section is configured to receive crops from the header segment via the first portion of the conveyor assembly, and the second portion of the conveyor assembly is configured to transport the received crops to a crop processing system of the harvester. The controller is configured to receive a signal indicative of a target position of the header segment and the controller is configured to control the actuator to adjust the header segment to the target position.

A reel power system for a header of an agricultural system includes an electrical generator having a stator and a rotor rotatably engaged with the stator. The stator is configured to be non-rotatably coupled to a support structure of a reel of the header. The rotor is configured to non-rotatably engage a base of the header. Furthermore, the reel is configured to rotate relative to the base. The electrical generator is configured to generate electrical power in response to rotation of the rotor.

An agricultural system for monitoring throughput of a feeder configured for use with a harvester performing a harvesting operation within a field may include a feeder housing and a feed assembly configured to direct a first flow of harvested materials and a second flow of harvested materials through the feeder. The agricultural system may further include a first sensor configured to generate first data indicative of the first flow of harvested materials through a first lateral section of the feeder. Similarly, the agricultural system may include a second sensor configured to generate second data indicative of the second flow of harvested materials through a second lateral section of the feeder. Additionally, the agricultural system may include a computing system configured to determine whether the harvester is on-row based at least in part on the first data and the second data.

An agricultural method for automatically controlling a position of a harvesting implement of an agricultural harvester, where the harvesting implement may be movably supported relative to a chassis of the agricultural harvester, and where a cab may be movably supported relative to the chassis, may include receiving inertial movement data from an implement-based inertial measurement unit (IMU) supported on the harvesting implement and inertial movement data from a vehicle-based IMU supported on at least one of the cab or the chassis of the agricultural harvester. The method may further include determining a relative movement parameter of the harvesting implement relative to the at least one of the cab or the chassis based at least in part on the inertial movement data. Additionally, the method may include controlling an operation of an implement actuator based at least in part on the relative movement parameter.

Agricultural system and method for automatically controlling a position of a harvesting implement of an agricultural harvester

A calibration system for an agricultural header includes a controller having a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a first position signal indicative of a first position of a reel arm of the agricultural header, receive a first distance signal indicative of a first distance between the reel arm and a terrain feature, receive a second position signal indicative of a second position of the reel arm, receive a second distance signal indicative of a second distance between the reel arm and the terrain feature, determine a calibration curve having a plurality of offset distances of the reel arm based on the first position, the first distance, the second position, and the second distance, and select an offset distance of the plurality of offset distances based on an operational position of the reel arm and the calibration curve.

A sensor mounting apparatus for a header of an agricultural system includes a first arched member configured to be coupled to opposite lateral ends of the header, such that the first arched member extends laterally across the header.
