An antistatic polyester film includes a self-supporting polyester substrate film bearing on at least one surface thereof an antistatic layer including a) one or more antistatic polymers comprising repeat units according to formula (I) wherein Rand Rare each independently H or CH, Ris an alkylene group having a carbon number in a range from 2 to 10, Rand Rare each independently a saturated hydrocarbon group having a carbon number in a range from 1 to 5, Ris an alkylene group having a carbon number in a range from 2 to 5, n is an integer in a range from 0 to 40, m is an integer in a range from 1 to 40, and Y&#x2033; is a halogen ion, nitrate ion, sulfate ion, alkylsulfate ion, sulfonate ion, alkylsulfonate ion or dihydrogen phosphate ion; b) one or more nonpolymeric cationic antistatic agents; and c) one or more crosslinkers. 

Antistatic coated polyester film

A coating composition including an alkali metal silicate, a wetting agent, and a hydrophilic antifog agent forms an antifog coating on a substrate. The coating may be applied to the surface of a film from an aqueous dispersion of the ingredients, followed by drying to form a composite film.

Silicate-containing antifog coatings

A coated article includes a substrate having on its surface a coating that includes a polymer selected from the group consisting of hydroxypropylcellulose, poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and mixtures of these, a surfactant, colloidal silica, and a crosslinker selected from the group consisting of water-soluble titanium salts and water-soluble or water-dispersible organic crosslinkers. The coating may be formed by applying a dispersion of the coating composition in a diluent to the substrate and subsequently drying the coated substrate to evaporate the diluent.

Coated articles

A coating composition comprising an alkali metal silicate, a wetting agent, and a hydrophilic antifog agent forms an antifog coating on a substrate. The coating may be applied to the surface of a film from an aqueous dispersion of the ingredients, followed by drying to form a composite film.

An oriented polyester film coated on at least one surface with a coating that improves its adhesion to gelatin is disclosed. The dry coating contains one or more sulfopolyesters; one or more tetrablock copolymer resins; and one or more non-volatile polyamines. Other ingredients, such as particulate materials and surfactants, may be present in the coating. The coating is preferably applied at the interdraw stage.

Interdraw pretreatment for polyester film

An orientated polyester film coated on at least one surface with a coating that improves its antiblocking properties is disclosed. The coating contains an organic polymer and about 0.002% to 1.5% by weight, based on the weight of the coating, of porous particles that have a pore volume of at least 0.03 mL/g and a particle size of about 0.5 .mu.m to 4.5 .mu.m.

The coating contains at least one sulfopolyester; at least one tetrablock copolymer resin; and at least one acrylamide/acrylic acid copolymer or salts thereof.
