Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for monitoring energy consumption. In one aspect, a method includes sending, to a power monitor of a circuit board, requests for power consumption data. The requests are sent periodically based on a reference clock that is located external to the circuit board and that is more accurate than a clock of the power monitor. Each request is for an accumulated amount of power for components of the circuit board. In response to each request, power consumption data is received from the power monitor. The power consumption data specifies the accumulated amount of power for the components of the circuit board since a previous request sent to the circuit board. An amount of energy consumed by the components of the circuit board over a time period is determined based on the received power measurements and the time period.

Data center energy monitoring

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for calibrating LED(s). In one aspect, an electronic device includes: a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs); one or more processors; and memory storing a plurality of color correction matrices, each color correction matrix of the plurality of color correction matrices corresponding to an LED of the plurality of LEDs and generated based on a desired color value for the corresponding LED, wherein the electronic device is configured to relay status of the electronic device via the plurality of LEDs operating in conjunction with the plurality of color correction matrices.

Devices having calibrated LEDs

A computing device is associated with a circuit for sharing and distributing backup power. During normal operating conditions, a main bus bar provides power to each computing device in a rack via a main power bus of the corresponding circuit. In the event of an AC power outage, the main power bus is deactivated and a backup power path of the circuit is activated. Backup power is provided to the device from a battery of the circuit via the backup power path. A shared power path is also activated in the circuit such that backup power may be provided from the battery to the main bus bar. By providing backup power to the main bus bar, the other computing devices in the rack that do not have sufficient backup power may receive backup power from the main bus bar until AC power is restored.

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for calibrating LED(s). In one aspect, an electronic device includes: (1) a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs); (2) one or more processors; and (3) memory storing a plurality of color correction matrices, each color correction matrix of the plurality of color correction matrices: (a) corresponding to an LED of the plurality of LEDs, (b) generated based on a desired color value for the corresponding LED, and (c) scaled to prevent overrange of color values for the corresponding LED; and the memory includes instructions for operating the plurality of LEDs in accordance with the stored plurality of color correction matrices.

A method of providing power to computer systems in a computer data includes receiving high-voltage power from one or more electric utility distribution systems; transforming the high-voltage power to medium-voltage power; and distributing the medium voltage power through a common medium voltage domain that serves a plurality of medium voltage-to-low voltage converters that are located in rows of computer racks in the computer data center.

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for calibrating LED(s). In one aspect, a method includes: (1) obtaining a desired color value for each LED of a plurality of LEDs to be calibrated; (2) obtaining image information from an image sensor, the image information corresponding to operation of the plurality of LEDs; and (3) generating calibration information for each LED of the plurality of LEDs based on the desired color value for the LED and the obtained image information.

Systems, devices, and methods for calibrating LEDs

A method for converting alternating current (AC) power to direct current (DC) power in a non-isolated power converter includes receiving a three-phase power supply, transforming the three phase power supply into six voltage phases, half-wave rectifying the AC current, applying a power factor correction to achieve DC power, and outputting a DC power signal. The three-phase power supply has an AC current. The six voltage phase is transformed at a secondary side of a three-phase distribution transformer, which includes a center tap located at the secondary side of the three-phase distribution transformer and one or more AC wire conductors. The AC wire conductors carry the transformed power supply. The half-wave rectification occurs at the secondary side of the three-phase distribution transformer. An arrangement of rectifier diodes on the AC wire conductors accomplishes the half-wave rectification. The output DC power signal has an output voltage at a DC output.

Converting alternating current power to direct current power

A method for providing electrical power to a computer data center includes generating alternating-current power by a plurality of generators and converting the alternating current power from each of the generators to direct current power; combining the direct current power from each of the generators into a common electrical domain; and supplying the computer data center using the combined direct current power.

Large-scale power back-up for data centers

Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to uninterruptible power supply units for systems requiring back up power. Each unit may include UPS circuitry for controlling charging and allowing discharging of a battery. The UPS circuitry may includes a controller and a plurality of metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistors ('MOSFET') switches. The MOSFETs may include charging and discharging MOSFETs arranged in series with the battery all driven by a single gate driver, such as a controller. In this regard, the controller may limit the charging current though all of the MOSFETs and charge the battery. The MOSFETs may be arranged such that if the charging MOSFET fails, the redundant charging MOSFET may continue to limit the charging current to the battery. Similarly, a redundant discharging MOSFET may be arranged in series with a discharging MOSFET in order to continue to provide discharging current if the discharging MOSFET fails.

An electric power supply unit includes a primary stage having an electric converter arranged to increase a frequency of AC power provided to an input of the power supply unit; a transformer stage connected to receive AC power from the primary stage and to reduce a voltage level of the AC power; and a secondary stage connected to receive the AC power at the reduced voltage level and the increased frequency and having a rectifier and power factor correction circuit arranged to convert the AC power to DC power and to provide power factor correction for power entering the power supply unit.

In many aspects, the systems and methods described herein include circuitry for an intermediate bus converter for use in a datacenter. The systems and methods described herein describe an intermediate bus converter comprising power stage circuitry, comprising a non-isolated converter, configured to convert a DC source voltage to one or more DC output voltages, wherein the DC source voltage is received from a front-end AC-to-DC converter. The intermediate bus converter further comprising controller circuitry configured to receive both the DC source voltage and the DC output voltage, and generate an at least one control signal to control the operation of the power stage circuitry.

Non-isolated intermediate bus converter

A method and apparatus are provided for balancing the load placed by a data center on different phases of a power input. According to the method and apparatus, the load on the power is monitored and a load imbalance detected. Once the load imbalance is detected, a server rack from the data center is selected and a power supply in the selected server rack is reconfigured to output an increased or decreased voltage.
