A weft yarn store for a loom includes a stationary drum (24), a winding arm (3) for winding weft yarn (20) on to the periphery of the drum, and a separating device (11) which separates groups of yarn turns (21, 22) from one another. A clamping facility at the weft yarn departure end of the drum (24) determines the release of a length of yarn for picking into the loom. The clamping action is accomplished by such a lever (14) mounted within the drum and working against an element (15a) mounted outside the drum (24). The outer clamping element is resiliently mounted in a retaining element (16) which secures the drum (24) against rotation. The clamping facility (14, 15a) enables the weft yarn to be retained gently in a reduced space.

Weft yarn store for a loom

The reel is comprised of a support member containing a rotational axis, a substantially cylindrical winding drum having a central axis and a number of peripheral elements which are adjustable radially of the winding drum to different winding diameters. The winding drum and elements form a polygonal to substantially circular guide path for the filamentous material adapted to be drawn off over end from the reel. The winding drum is secured to the support member via screws so as to be adjustable transversely of the rotational axis and is adapted to be secured in a central operating position and in a number of eccentric operating positions relative to the rotational axis. In each of the eccentric operating positions, the peripheral elements are adjustable to a circle circumscribed centrally to the rotational axis.

Storage device for filamentary material

A reed baulk unit for a pneumatic weaving machine comprising a series of reed blades held in a groove in a head portion of said unit and at least one blowing nozzle housing located close to said reed blades, said blowing nozzle housing being fed from a pressurized air container through valve means which are mounted on the reed baulk and adapted to be actuated by a control shaft supported by the reed baulk, said reed baulk having an arm portion by means of which it is fixed to rocking trunnions which are rotatably mounted in the weaving machine, said reed baulk unit being characterized in that the reed baulk is formed of an extruded hollow profile, a longitudinal hollow space of which serves as said pressurized air container communicating, through an opening in the wall of the reed baulk profile, with blowing nozzle housing located on the outer side of the reed baulk profile, and control valves for said blowing nozzle housing accommodated by the blowing nozzle housing, while said control shaft is supported in a substantially semi-cylindrical recess in a portion of the reed baulk profile projecting outwardly adjacent the blowing nozzle housing.

Reed baulk unit

The selvage forming device comprises a frame adapted to be connected to a heald of a loom and to guide at least one warp thread. Two superimposed members are rockably mounted in the frame, and an actuating arm is secured to one member for rocking said member, the members being hinged together so that rocking of one member causes the other member to rock in the opposite sense. Each member carries one of a cooperating pair of needles for guiding binding threads, the rocking motion of the members being such as to cause scissors motion of the pair of needles in a plane transverse to the wrap threads. The frame is provided with a plurality of vertical wires under tension for guiding the warp threads.
