The present disclosure describes aleaf extract and methods of using the leaf extract for decreasing the pigmentation of the skin and/or of the skin appendages, and/or decreasing the pigment spots on the skin. The disclosure further describes methods of using the leaf extract for the treatment of pathological conditions involving a pigment dysregulation. The disclosure also describes cosmetic compositions and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the leaf extract.

The invention relates to plant extracts for stimulating the synthesis of hyaluronan synthase, particularly the synthesis of hyaluronan synthase 2 (HAS2). Specific aims of the invention are to increase firmness and/or elasticity and/or tissue moisturization, and/or increase the skin barrier effect, and/or increase tissue resilience, and/or modulate angiogenesis, or the neocreation of blood capillaries, and/or improve healing, and/or cell proliferation, migration or differentiation, and/or skin atrophy, and/or intended to combat the effects of ageing on the skin, and in particular to combat the loss of firmness of the skin observed in the course of ageing, and/or atrophied scars.

HAS2-stimulating plant extracts

The present invention relates to a novel sebum secretion inhibitor and use thereof for the production of cosmetic and pharmaceutical, notably dermatological, compositions, intended for preventing and/or reducing the secretion of sebum and notably of squalene.

The disclosed substance restores normal co-expression and interaction between the LOX and NRAGE proteins. Particularly, an effective amount of the substance that modulates the expression and/or activity of LOX of SEQ ID NO: 1 and/or that modulates the expression and/or activity of NRAGE of SEQ ID NO: 2, may be used for the manufacture of a composition for modulating the interaction between the LOX and NRAGE proteins to regulate the balance between the cellular phenomena of proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, particularly in cases where the balance between these phenomena is disturbed, and especially in cases where the interaction between LOX and NRAGE is absent or altered. The invention makes it possible especially to treat and/or prevent skin ageing, lichen planus, graft-versus-host reaction (GVH), eczema, psoriasis and a cancer, particularly an epithelial cancer and more particularly a cutaneous epithelial cancer of basocellular or spinocellular type.

Substance for restoring normal co-expression and interaction between the LOX and NRAGE proteins

The invention relates to the stimulation of the synthesis and of the activity of an isoform of lysyl oxidase, and more particularly of the LOXL (lysyl oxidase-like) isoform. The invention relates notably to a method of identifying an active principle which stimulates the formation of elastic fibers. The aim of the invention is mainly to provide such a method of identification so as to provide compositions which enable stimulating the formation of elastic fibers.
