A method and apparatus for treatment of unburnts utilizing oxygen carrier particles, which may be CLOU particles, oxidized in an air reactor and transmitted to a post oxidation reactor as shown in FIG.. A flue gas stream containing unburnts is injected into post oxidation reactor wherein unburnts are oxidized by oxygen supplied by oxygen carriers. Reduced oxygen carriers are separated from post oxidation reactor and transmitted back to air reactor for re-oxidation. An embodiment may include a post oxidation chamber, which may be catalytic, receiving a portion of flue gas stream and oxygen from a flue gas stream of post oxidation reactor.

Methods and apparatus for oxidation of unburnts

The combustion device according to the invention produces gases containing COand water vapor and comprises a circulating fluidized bed reaction chamber (), a separator (), heat recovery means of which a part is situated in a dense fluidized bed (), wherein the part located in the bed of the heat recovery system(s) is composed of catalyst tubes () through which a gas mixture flows. The gas mixture is composed of natural gas and/or naphtha or refinery gas or two or more of these gases. The gas undergoes reformation which converts it into a synthesis gas containing hydrogen. The fact of the catalyst tubes being situated in the dense fluidized bed made up of ashes from the combustion allows the catalyst to be reheated in a homogenous manner and the reforming reaction of the natural gas mixture to be stimulated.

The invention relates to an oil-derived hydrocarbon converter comprising a catalytic cracking vessel () in the presence of catalyst particles in fluidized phase and a regenerator, for regenerating said catalyst particles by burning off the coke deposited on them, said catalyst circulating between said cracking vessel and said regenerator, said regenerator being a reactor () integrated into a combustion installation for steam generation comprising carbon dioxide capture. Oil-derived hydrocarbon converter having an integrated combustion installation comprising carbon dioxide capture

Circulating fluidized bed device provided with an oxygen-fired furnace

The boiler of the invention has a circulating fluidized bed, uses solid fuels and the oxygen obtained by high temperature oxygen production membranes, and is characterized in that the membranes are placed in the bed. These membranes are, for example, of the OTM (Oxygen Transport Membranes) type. Since the membranes operate at over 700&#xb0; C., their positioning in the outer bed is ideally selected because the temperature of the solids circulating in the outer bed is between 750 and 900&#xb0; C. This is particularly remarkable because the operating temperature windows of the circulating fluidized bed coincide with the optimal temperature window of use of the membranes.

A separator of solids for separating first and second solids, the diameter and density of the first solids being larger than the diameter and density of the second solids. A first substantially vertical internal baffle () forms a passage in the low portion of the separator and forms two compartments (A,B) on the passage of the fluidized solids. The fluidization of each compartment is independently controlled by two fluidization gas inlets (A,B) in order to obtain the desired velocity field for separating the first and second solids in the first compartment (A) and discharging the second solids through a vent (), as well as for transferring the first solids into the second compartment (B). A circulating fluidized bed reactor is provided that includes a reaction chamber having a vertical partition wall forming two independent subchambers that include a combustion subchamber and a cooling subchamber. A combustion fluidizing gas is provided to the combustion subchamber to maintain a circulating fluidized bed therein. At least one centrifugal separator receives flue gas from the combustion subchamber and separates particles from the flue gas. At least one external bed receives the particles from the at least one centrifugal separator and provides the particles to the combustion subchamber. An external bed fluidizing gas is provided to the external bed to fluidize the particles therein. The cooling subchamber cools the external bed fluidizing gas received from the external bed. A heat exchanger cage receives the flue gas from the centrifugal separator and the external bed fluidizing gas from the cooling subchamber.

Circulating fluidized bed reactor with a convertible combustion method

The method of simultaneously reducing carbon dioxide (CO ) emissions and sulfur dioxide (SO ) emissions produced by the combustion of carbon-containing matter in a hearth consists in injecting into the hearth a calcium-based agent, a fraction of which absorbs SO after decarbonization, and then, after the flue gases have been subjected to intermediate cooling, in causing them to transit via a first reactor and in putting them in contact therein with the other fraction of the absorbant that has not reacted with SO so as to capture CO from the flue gases by carbonization, then, in a separator, in extracting the solids contained in the flue gases output from the first reactor so as to subject them to heat treatment in a second reactor in order to extract CO therefrom by decarbonization and in order to recycle the resulting regenerated CO absorbant to the first reactor.

Method of simultaneously reducing CO2 and SO2 emissions in a combustion installation

The circulating fluidized bed boiler comprises a combustion hearth and a separator cyclone interconnected by a duct which extends along a longitudinal axis and which channels a flow of particles and gas containing nitrogen oxides. It also includes means for injecting into the flow a reagent for reducing nitrogen oxides. Said means comprises at least a first injection tube disposed in a setback of the top portion of the combustion hearth which extends over the duct so as to inject the reagent along the longitudinal axis of the duct in the same direction as the flow.
