Teachings herein include computer-implemented methods for scheduling transmissions of a plurality data streams through a telecommunication network. A respective repetitive transmission of each of the data streams is transmitted from a first originator node, in one or more of a plurality of phases according to a respective repetition rate of the respective repetitive transmission. The method may include: selecting the first originator node from a group of nodes; iterating over data streams of the plurality of streams whose repetitive transmission is transmitted from the first originator node; and at each iteration: selecting a data stream from the selected originator node, and assigning a phase of the plurality of phases to the selected stream based on a distribution criterion taking into account previously selected data streams and their assignment to a respective phase. The respective repetitive transmission of each stream is scheduled according to the respective phase.

Scheduling transmissions through a telecommunication network

Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a computer-implemented method for scheduling transmissions of a plurality of data streams in a telecommunication network. The transmissions are partitioned into transmission cycles with a predetermined length in time. Repetitive transmissions of each of the data streams are transmitted based on the predetermined length multiplied by a respective repetition rate. The method includes: determining a path through the network for the transmissions of each stream; determining a shared transmission links based on a comparison of the paths, wherein each shared transmission link is part of at least two of the paths; based on a numerical optimization, determining a phase of the repetitive transmissions for each data stream, the optimization using an objective function with a value for interference between two repetitive transmissions; and scheduling the transmissions of each data stream, wherein the transmissions start at a transmission cycle associated with the respective phase.

Interference reduction in telecommunication networks

The disclosed is a system and production processes, comprising a processor to perform the steps: a) obtaining a long-term production schedule containing production operations for a set of production orders by using forecasted values for production operation durations; b) deriving dispatching recommendations for suitable order release dates, dispatching sequences and/or resource choices of all subsequent operational dispatching decisions from the obtained long-term production schedule; c) obtaining a released subset of the set of production orders having each a release date and a due date and including information of all possible dispatching sequences and logical dependencies between them to produce a requested product; d) iteratively calculating subsequent operational dispatching decisions based on operational constraints and on the derived dispatching recommendations which support a decision-making in favor of optimizing the overall production process with respect to long-term objectives; e) outputting each calculated operational dispatching decision to a production executer.

System and method for providing short-term dispatching decisions for operating a number of resources involved in a number of production processes under consideration of long-term objectives

A method for resource management includes: providing a representation of a set of resources; obtaining a set of use requests, wherein a use request can be fulfilled by allocating a resource to the use request; wherein the resources are categorized into resource classes, so that resources in a resource class are interchangeable with respect to fulfilling a use request; wherein a use request can be fulfilled for a specific use period requested by the use request, by allocating a resource to a resource class requested by the use request; wherein a target distribution of resources for use requests is determined on the basis of an optimization parameterization; wherein the optimization parameterization is based on weightings of allocations of resources to use requests; wherein, further, to determine the target distribution, a starting solution is created that represents a distribution of resources for use requests, is provided.

An energy system that has components connected by buses, and a method and an apparatus for controlling same is provided. The components are labelled as either non-fixed or fixed, depending on whether their energy operating point is specified. The control of the energy system includes performing an iteration process via all of the buses. A respective iteration for the respectively selected bus includes attempting to balance a power budget of the selected bus by specifying the energy operating points of components connected to the respective bus that are labelled as non-fixed. If the balancing for the respective bus is successful, all of the components connected to the respective bus are labelled as fixed; otherwise, the label of components connected to the respective bus is converted from fixed to non-fixed and a fresh iteration for the bus is triggered.

Techniques for operational planning in a microgrid by means of optimization are provided. This involves a power exchange with a primary grid being taken into consideration. The operational planning in this case is performed by using an optimization, e.g. a (mixed) integer linear optimization. The various examples describe how a power exchange (balancing) can be provided for a primary grid to which the microgrid is connected. In particular, this is achieved by taking into consideration a distinction for the constraint of the optimization. In this manner, a lead time between a request for the power exchange and the actual activating of the power exchange can be taken into consideration.
