The present invention relates to hydrophilic anti-fog coatings. In particular, the coatings use two types of nanoscale particles, colloidal silica and porous organosilicate micelles, in a polyurethane matrix. The invention is an anti-fog coating for optically clear substrates (polycarbonate, polyurethane, nylon, polyester and other clear plastics) without the need for a primer and glass substrates with an additional primer layer, comprising monosized colloidal silica nanoparticles and porous organosilicate micelles in a polyurethane matrix. The silica is preferably 1-5% by weight and the micelles are loaded at 0.1 to 10% volume percentage by volume. The polyurethane prepolymer is dissolved at 10-40% by weight in a mixture of tertiary amyl alcohol and diacetone alcohol to customize for dip, flow or spray coating processes.

The silica is preferably 1-5% by weight and the micelles are loaded at 0.1 to 10% volume percentage by volume. The present disclosure relates to a dosimeter for measuring exposure to heat over time in combination with peak temperature indicators and reversible temperature indicators. The preferred temperature indicator tag is credit card sized and comprises four time-temperature dosimeters. Each dosimeter has a wick in contact with a separate reservoir containing a mix of a colored dye, a wax and an amorphous polymer to indicate a distinct temperature range when the mix melts. The wicks are preferably made of porous paper with a pore size around 8 microns to allow for proper capillary action along its length. An adhesive, except where each wick contacts its respective reservoir and at a vent, preferably seals each wick. The tag preferably has a plurality of peak temperature indicators where each indicator has a blend of a dye, a wax and a polymer for a temperature indication range. The tag also preferably has a plurality of reversible temperature sensors.

Time-temperature dosimeter

An apparatus to make home carbonated aqueous solutions using commercial low cost screw capped disposable pressurizable beverage containers. The apparatus including screw capped bottles with barbed fittings and flexible tubing and a manifold connection to connect the reservoir bottles with the reactor bottle and the receiver bottle. Valves or pinch clamps, tubing connectors and a pressure relief valve are used. Yeast and a fermentable carbohydrate and water are mixed together in one disposable reactor bottle. The carbon dioxide emanating from the disposable reactor bottle is fed into two or more disposable reservoir bottles such that the carbon dioxide is separated from the yeast, sugar, water, and fermentation alcohols. A pressure relief valve is placed on tubing whose internal pressure is derived from the reactor bottle to prevent unsafe pressures from occurring within in the system. A pressure indicator shows when the system is properly pressurized. A chilled water-containing solution in a disposable receiver bottle to which flavors may be added is connected to the reservoir bottle(s) when the proper pressure has been achieved. The receiver bottle has adequate gas head space to allow the bottle contents to be shaken, hastening the dissolving of the carbon dioxide into the water.
