Knife assemblies for securing knives to slicing machines, slicing machines equipped therewith, and methods of operating knife assemblies for securing knives to and releasing knives from slicing machines. Such a knife assembly includes a knife holder having a knife support surface, a knife supported on the knife support surface, and a clamp having a base portion adjacent a trailing edge of the clamp and a knife-engaging portion adjacent a leading edge of the clamp. The knife assembly applies a clamping load to the clamp to secure the knife to the knife holder. The clamp is prevented from translating relative to the shaped knife in a leading direction of the knife assembly as the clamping load is applied and/or permits removal of the clamp by being translated in the leading direction.

Knife assemblies of slicing machines, methods of clamping and releasing knives therefrom, and slicing machines equipped therewith

Machines for cutting products and impellers suitable for use therein. Such an impeller includes a lower plate and paddles configured with the lower plate to direct material placed on the lower plate in a radially outward direction of the impeller under the influence of centrifugal forces when the impeller is rotated. At least one of the paddles has an outer radial extent that is adjacent a perimeter of the lower plate. At least a first exit hole is located in the lower plate and has a wall section that completely closes the first exit hole along the perimeter at an upper surface of the lower plate. The first exit hole extends through the lower plate to define a passageway connected to the upper surface to enable foreign debris at the upper surface to exit the impeller through the passageway.

Impellers for cutting machines and cutting machines equipped therewith

Methods and apparatuses for cutting food products. The apparatus includes an annular-shaped cutting head having at least a first mounting frame surrounding a central axis of the cutting head and a plurality of cutting tools arranged around the central axis of the cutting head and pivotably coupled to the first mounting frame such that each cutting tool has a pivot axis. The method includes deflecting each cutting tool about its pivot axis by engaging first portions of the cutting tools in proximity to the first mounting frame to deflect the first portions a first radial deflection distance relative to the central axis and engaging second portions of the cutting tools to deflect the second portions a second radial deflection distance relative to the central axis. The first and second radial deflection distances can be adjusted individually or in unison.

Apparatuses for cutting food products and methods for operating the same

Knife assemblies adapted for use in slicing machines includes a knife holder having a support surface that defines an outer upper surface of the knife holder and a leading edge of the knife holder. An insert is supported by the knife holder and has leading and trailing ends that each extends along a longitudinal extent of the knife holder, and a longitudinal end between the leading and trailing ends. A knife is at least partly supported by the insert and has a cutting edge that projects beyond the leading end of the insert. The knife is clamped to the knife holder and the insert is secured to the knife holder by at least a first slot defined in the trailing end and/or longitudinal end of the insert, and at least a first locking post that engages the first slot and secures the insert to the knife holder.

Knife assemblies for slicing machines and machines equipped therewith

Knife assemblies adapted for use in slicing machines. Such a knife assembly includes a knife holder having a support surface that defines a leading edge of the knife holder and a trailing end spaced from the leading edge, an insert disposed on the support surface so that a leading edge thereof projects beyond the leading edge of the knife holder and a trailing end thereof is secured to the knife holder, a knife clamped to the knife holder so that the insert is between the knife and the support surface. The trailing end of the insert is secured to the knife holder as a result of the trailing end being received in a slot defined in the trailing end of the support surface, or with posts protruding from the support surface that engage slots defined in the trailing end of the insert.

Knives and knife assemblies for slicing machines and centrifugal-type slicing machines equipped therewith. Such a knife includes a cutting edge and an opposing edge oppositely disposed from the cutting edge. The cutting and opposing edges extend along a longitudinal length of the knife, and the knife has a handle at a longitudinal end of the knife. A transition region is between the cutting edge and the handle, and the transition region has a minimum lateral width of roughly one half of a lateral width between the cutting and opposing edges of the knife, with the result that a portion of the knife that laterally extends beyond the transition region is up to roughly half of a lateral width of the knife between the cutting and opposing edges.

Knives and knife assemblies for slicing machines and slicing machines equipped therewith

A monitoring system for monitoring fluid parameters in a lubrication system of an engine may include an input conduit configured to be in fluid communication with the lubrication system at a first location upstream of an oil cooler of the lubrication system. A monitoring device may be in fluid communication with the input conduit. An output conduit may be in fluid communication with the lubrication system at a second location downstream of the oil cooler. The output conduit may include a flow restrictor configured to provide a desired pressure and flow of a fluid to the monitoring device via the input conduit.

On-engine fluid monitoring system

A pump for an engine includes a suction chamber, a discharge chamber, and a piston at least partly received within a relief chamber. The piston has first and second passageways provided therein. The second passageway is located closer to a face of the piston than the first passageway. The piston is movable within the relief chamber, so that the volume of the fluid transfer from the suction chamber to the discharge chamber is varied according to a pressure in the relief chamber. The first and second passageways form fluid paths between the suction chamber and the discharge chamber at a first and second pressure in the relief chamber, respectively, the first pressure being less than the second pressure.

Pump for an engine

A regulator assembly having a main body is provided. The main body includes a first passage extending from a first end and a second passage extending from the first passage towards a second end. The main body also includes a seat defined between the first passage and the second passage. The regulator assembly also includes a valve element. The valve element includes a head portion having a projection. The projection includes a plurality of apertures provided therethrough. The valve element further includes an internal channel. The regulator assembly further includes a spring element. Direct fluid communication between the plurality of apertures of the valve element and the first passage of the main body is discontinued when the head portion is in contact with the seat; and is in direct fluid communication with the first passage of the main body when the valve element is not in contact with the seat.

Regulator assembly

A tube seal assembly is provided to connect a tube and an adapter in order to circulate a fluid. The tube seal assembly can include various components such as a locking flange, a tube retainer, a seal guard, and an elastomeric seal. Bolts are used to secure the components of tube seal assembly together through the use of a load and to secure the tube seal assembly to the second tube. Teeth on the tube retainer are angled to dig into the first tube to prevent the tube from separating from the adapter during a blowout. The tube seal assembly can be configured to connect to any existing tube in order to be more serviceable in the field.
