A bench clip for a liquid cooling system is disclosed. The bench clip comprises a manifold attached to a liquid coolant fitting. A retention bracket has a first slot that is adapted to receive a tab on the manifold. The retention bracket has a second slot oriented perpendicular to the first slot. A handle is pivotably mounted to a post on the manifold. The handle has a post positioned within the second slot on the retention bracket. The manifold tab is configured to slide within the first slot and the handle post is configured to slide within the second slot in response to movement of the handle. Movement of the manifold tab within the first slot limits the movement of the manifold to a single axis relative to the clip. An attachment end of the retention bracket is configured to engage with a portion of a server chassis.

Methods and systems for managing the operation of data processing systems are disclosed. A data processing system may include a computing device that may provide computer implemented services. To provide the computer implemented services, hardware components of the data processing system may need to operate in predetermined manners. To manage the operation of the hardware components, the data processing system may cool them when their temperatures fall outside of thermal operating ranges. To facilitate cooling, fans generate flows of gasses. A fan carrier assembly may be used to automatically align plugs of fans with power receptacles during insertions of the plugs into the receptacles.

The power distribution may be managed using multifunction power buses that may relieve a motherboard of a data processing system from distributing power. The mechanical load may be managed using an adapter plate that may relieve the motherboard of the data processing system from providing for attachment of devices based on the location of the mechanical mounting hardware on the devices. By doing so, motherboards may be standardized and customized for use with various devices.

A drive carrier for a cold plug device of an information handling system includes a handle, a first latch, and a second latch. The handle rotates between a locked position and an unlocked position. The first latch includes first and second ends, and slides between first and second positions. The handle is held in the locked position when the first latch is in the first position. The second latch includes first and second ends. The first end of the second latch is pivotally attached to the second end of the first latch and the second end of the second latch snap fits over a first end of the handle. The second latch prevents the first latch from sliding from the first position to the second position when the second end of the second latch is snap fitted over the first end of the handle.
