The electronic IWE actuator includes an electric motor, a worm gear connected to the electric motor, a ball ramp including a worm wheel configured to engage with the worm gear, a clutch ring configured to engage with a wheel hub of the vehicle, and a shift fork configured to engage with the clutch ring and the ball ramp and move linearly in a direction along an axis of the wheel hub in response to a rotation of the ball ramp. The clutch ring is configured to engage with the wheel hub in response to a rotation of the worm gear in a first direction, and disengage from the wheel hub in response to a rotation of the worm gear in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction.

A seating assembly for a vehicle comprises: a cushion comprising an outer edge and a plurality of snap-fit-fasteners; and a carrier comprising an outer edge surface and a plurality of snap-fit receivers near the outer edge surface of the carrier arranged to receive the plurality of snap-fit fasteners; wherein the plurality of snap-fit receivers have received and are retaining the plurality of snap-fit fasteners such that the cushion is interconnected with the carrier; and wherein the plurality of snap-fit fasteners and plurality of receivers are arranged to prevent the edge of the cushion from rolling up. The cushion further comprises a lip having an inward facing surface; wherein the cushion at least partially surrounds the carrier with at least a portion of the inward facing surface of the lip facing the outer edge surface of the carrier.

A work surface is provided with a lock assembly. The lock assembly includes an actuator plate and a locking plate. The actuator plate includes a pin. The locking plate includes an angled slot that receives the pin of the actuator plate. Actuation of the actuator plate in a first direction causes the pin to move within the angled slot of the locking plate. The movement of the pin within the angled slot causes movement of the locking plate in a second direction, thereby actuating the locking plate between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration.

A lifter mechanism for an edge of a seat cushion includes a bracket pivotable about a transverse bar. The bracket includes a forward lever and a rearward portion. The forward lever is coupled to a channel within a flange of a seat suspension. The rearward portion is coupled to a linkage. The linkage is coupled to a seatback. The forward lever raises an edge of the seat suspension upon the seatback pivoting to a predetermined reclined position.

The vehicle facing portion includes a first bracket and a second bracket mounted to a frame and a module mounted to the first bracket and the second bracket. The forward lever raises an edge of the seat suspension upon the seatback pivoting to a predetermined reclined position.

A seat assembly forms a substantially horizontal plane for an exposed surface of each of a lower seat cushion and a seatback cushion of a seatback. The seat assembly comprises a lifter mechanism for a rearward edge of the lower seat cushion. The lifter mechanism further comprises a main lift arm coupled to the edge, a slotted support arm having a distal end thereof pivotally coupled to a distal end of the main lift arm, a linkage arm pivotably coupled with the main lift arm and a slot in the slotted support arm, and a translational arm coupled with the linkage arm. The rearward edge of the lower seat cushion is raised by the translational arm being displaced to a fully displaced position to thereby raise a distal end of the linkage arm and the lift arm.

A motor vehicle comprises an upper back support comprising a substantially U-shaped tubular member pivotally attached at a first end to one of a pair of opposed lateral seatback frame members and pivotally attached at a second end to the other of the pair of opposed lateral seatback frame members, a substantially rigid planar base attached to a central portion of the tubular member, a latch operably coupling the first end of the tubular member to the one of a pair of opposed lateral seatback members to restrain the tubular member in one of a plurality of positions between a stowed position and a fully raised position, and a cushion disposed above the upper back support to form a movable exposed surface.
