A data collector agent (DCA) connector component running on a cloud computing network signals to a device interfacing platform component that a work request is ready. The device interfacing platform component runs on the cloud computing network and interfaces a device located outside the cloud computing network to the cloud computing network. The work request is for the DCA connector component to perform in conjunction with the device. The DCA connector component establishes a communication session with the device via the device interfacing platform component as initiated by the device. The DCA connector component performs the work request in conjunction with the device by tunneling to the device through the established communication session.

Examples disclosed herein relate to receiving a usage report from a printer, wherein the usage report comprises a count of pages printed and a time spent in a first power state; calculating a power consumption for the printer according to the usage report, and providing a report of historic power consumption.

A user device constructs a custom color table for an imaging device and transmits the custom color table to a computing device. The computing device digitally signs the custom color table constructed at the user device. The digitally signed custom color table is deployed to the imaging device. The imaging device processes an image using the using the digitally signed custom color table.

In one example of the disclosure, subject audio data, indicative of a subject audio captured via a transducer during an operation of a subject electromechanical device, is accessed. Baseline audio data, indicative of a baseline audio captured during an operation of a baseline electromechanical device, is accessed. An electronic file that includes differences between the subject audio data and the baseline audio data is created.

An accessory device is directly connected in a non-networked manner to an electronic device. The accessory device is to be used by a web application running on a computing device connected to the electronic device over a network. The accessory device has a shared context or an owned context. The shared context specifies that usage of the accessory device is shared among the web application and one or more other web applications. The owned context specifies that the usage of the accessory device is exclusive to the web application and not to any other web application.

Image forming devices and image forming methods are provided. According to a first aspect of the invention, an image forming device includes a processor configured to process executable instructions; a storage configuration configured to store image data, plural instruction components, and a dynamic application, wherein the instruction components individually comprise plural executable instructions configured to cause the processor to perform an operation with respect to formation of images, and the dynamic application comprises plural executable instructions configured to cause the processor to associate the dynamic application with at least one of the instruction components and to perform an operation with respect to the at least one associated instruction component; an input/output interface configured to communicate the image data and the dynamic application externally of the image forming device; and an engine configured to form images upon media responsive to the image data.

Image forming devices and image forming methods

The present invention includes data imaging methods and image forming devices. One aspect of the present invention provides a data imaging method including the steps of providing an image forming device including a filter interface; communicating at least one data stream within the image forming device; adaptively interfacing a filter with the filter interface of the image forming device; accessing at least one data stream using the filter following the interfacing; and forming an image following the accessing.

In an imaging system including firmware and a user interface control panel, a firmware-based internal page component is capable of receiving and registering internal page data from a source external to the page component itself. The internal page component can install a control panel display menu item corresponding to the registered internal page, and then capture user control panel input relating to that page. The component can then open a data pipe, and invoke the internal page data. The data pipe can be provided in the form of a VIO channel, e.g., invoking a print job, or can involve converting internal page data to a format capable of being viewed by a web browser. The internal page component can be installed as a part of the firmware of the imaging system. Internal page data can be received from a source external to the imaging system firmware, for example, from a storage device such as a flash disk, RAM disk, or hard disk. The internal page component can be embodied as a firmware-based dynamic internal page system. The internal page system includes an internal page registration mechanism adapted and constructed to register internal pages from page sources external to the firmware of the imaging system. The internal page system also includes an internal page retrieval mechanism adapted and constructed to selectively retrieve internal pages from the page sources. A method of handling internal pages in an imaging system including firmware is also provided.
