A bin tipper includes a vertical support column, a cam track adjacent to the vertical support column, a structural member mounted to and configured to translate along the vertical support column, and a gripper assembly including a gripper mount having gripper arms mounted thereon that are configured to receive and hold a collection bin. The cam track includes a proximal portion parallel to the vertical support column and a distal portion provided at an angle with respect to the vertical support column. A first end of the gripper mount is pivotally mounted to the structural member and a second end of the gripper mount includes a cam follower extending therefrom that is configured to move within the proximal and distal portions of the cam track. The gripper assembly lifts and inverts the collection bin based on a position of the cam follower of the gripper mount within the cam track.

A shredder system and methods for shredding recyclable material including a primary shredder that shreds recyclable material into a first larger shred size and a secondary shredder that shreds recyclable material into a second smaller shred size material. The secondary shredder includes a rotor and a knife that meshes with the rotor to cause all of the first larger shred size material to be further shredded to the second smaller shred size material. The secondary shredder may also include a diverter mechanism capable of diverting the first larger shred size material. Either the diverter mechanism or the knife can move relative to the rotor to create an opening that allows the first larger shred size material to avoid being further shredded into the second smaller shred size material. The shredder system may be disposed in a motor vehicle.

A motor vehicle for collecting and sorting material includes at least one container disposed in a material-storage compartment of the motor vehicle, a bin tipper configured to receive a collection bin containing the material, and a hopper configured to receive the material from the collection bin and transport the material to a selected location in the material-storage compartment of the motor vehicle.

A motor vehicle for collecting paper for shredding including an electric motor configured to at least assist in propelling the motor vehicle; a compartment configured to receive paper; at least one of a bin lifting device, a shredder mechanism, a conveyance device, and a dumping device; and at least one battery. The bin lifting device is configured to lift a bin and deposit the paper in the compartment, the shredder mechanism is configured to shred the paper in the compartment, the conveyance device is configured to transport the paper from a first location to a second location within the compartment, and the dumping device is configured to discharge the paper from the compartment. The at least one battery is configured to power (i) the electric motor and (ii) the at least one of the bin lifting device, the shredder mechanism, the conveyance device, and the dumping device.

Motor vehicle for collecting paper and having battery to assist in propulsion

A tine for mounting on a rotatable shaft of soil aeration and cultivation equipment, comprising: mounting means at an attachment end of the tine; a tip at a ground-engaging end of the tine opposite the attachment end; leading and trailing convex curvilinear edges disposed opposite each other and converging toward the attachment end and the tip; and bevelled sections on each of the leading and trailing convex curvilinear edges. The unique shape of the tine has been found to create a wider range of soil disturbance than is the case with conventional straight-edge tines, requires less material to manufacture, and penetrates the ground surface more easily than conventional straight-edge tines due to the convex leading edge.
