A distributed control system receives analysis data. The analysis data includes quality attributes of fluid samples and an indication of a plant location corresponding to the fluid samples. The system identifies one or more anomalies of fluid based upon the quality attributes of the plurality of fluid samples and attributes the one or more anomalies to one or more particular areas. The system triggers an alert, trigger control, or both, based at least in part upon the identified one or more anomalies and the attributed one or more particular areas.

System and method for plant control based on fluid quality

A plant-integrated measurement and monitoring system includes one or more sampling ports disposed throughout to provide fuel samples at key locations in the plant. Additional sampling ports are included to provide samples of water, lube oil or other fluids. Each fuel sample is analyzed in an automated analyzer that determines a presence of contaminants. Results of the analysis are interpreted by the plant control system to determine quality attributes of the fuel samples and identify locations and/or causes of identified anomalies. The control system further issues alerts or actions to limit an impact of the identified anomalies.

Various embodiments include a system having: a computing device configured to monitor a gas turbine (GT) by: determining a moisture content and/or an oxygen content of inlet air entering the inlet of the GT compressor section; determining a corresponding one of the moisture content and/or the oxygen content of exhaust gas from the GT turbine section; calculating a flow rate of the exhaust gas from the turbine section and a flow rate of the inlet air entering the inlet of the compressor section based upon the moisture content and/or the oxygen content of the inlet air and the exhaust gas; and calculating a temperature of the exhaust gas and an energy of the exhaust gas from the turbine section based upon the flow rate of the exhaust gas from the turbine and the flow rate of the inlet air entering the inlet of the compressor section.

A system includes a gasification fuel injector, which includes a first fuel conduit configured to inject a first fuel flow from a first fuel tip, a second fuel conduit configured to inject a second fuel flow from a second fuel tip, a first gas conduit configured to inject a first gas flow from a first gas tip, a second gas conduit configured to inject a second gas flow from a second gas tip, and a third gas conduit configured to inject a third gas flow from a third gas tip. At least one of the first fuel tip, the second fuel tip, the first gas tip, the second gas tip, or the third gas tip is recessed a distance away from an outlet of the gasification fuel injector. The first and second fuel conduits and the first, second, and third gas conduits are coaxial with one another.

A gasification quench chamber is disclosed. The gasification quench chamber includes a reservoir that contains liquid coolant in its lower portion and an exit for the cooled syngas in its upper portion; a dip tube that is configured to introduce a syngas mixture to contact the liquid coolant which produces the cooled syngas; a cooling device configured to further cool the cooled syngas in its upper portion; and a stability device in the lower portion that is configured to mitigate coolant level fluctuation and sloshing. In one embodiment, a gasification system component, such as a quench unit or scrubber may retain of pool of a cooling fluid for cooling another fluid. The gasification system component includes a flow damping mechanism designed to dampen flow of the cooling fluid, the other fluid, or both, within the gasification system component. The flow damping mechanism may be disposed in an inner chamber formed between a dip tube and a draft tube or disposed in an outer chamber formed between the walls of the gasification system component and the draft tube. The flow damping mechanism also may be disposed between the inner chamber and the outer chamber.

Disclosed is a fuel nozzle for a combustor of a gas turbine engine includes a nozzle inlet, a combustion area and a swirler disposed between the nozzle inlet and combustion area. The swirler includes a plurality of swirler vanes, each swirler vane capable of creating a pressure difference in fluid flow through the swirler between a pressure side and suction side of the swirler vane. The swirler further includes at least one through airflow hole located in at least one swirler vane of the plurality of swirler vanes. The at least one through airflow hole is capable of utilizing the pressure difference between the pressure side and suction side to promote fluid flow through the at least one airflow hole. The fluidization device also includes a carrier gas injection port positioned radially outward from the body.
