A kit is disclosed which includes a blister tray and a package for a small device insertable within the blister tray. The blister tray has at least one medical device contained therein. The package includes a pair of end flaps engageable with the medical device such that the medical device, contained within the blister tray, inhibits the removal of the package from the blister tray. A plurality of openings is provided in the package and cooperates with each other to form a receptacle for a medical device, such as a vessel inverter.

A kit is disclosed which includes a blister tray and a blister card sized and shaped to be inserted within the blister tray. The blister card includes indicia printed thereon relating to the medical device. A main panel and retaining mechanisms for retaining the blister card within the blister tray are provided.

A suture package for multiple double armed sutures has a base panel with a multi-compartment pocket disposed at a bottom portion thereof. A needle park adhered to the base panel holds a first group of needle pairs with the associated sutures extending down into compartments of the pocket. A divider panel divides the pocket structure in half and supports a second needle park for holding a second plurality of needle pairs. The needle parks have a serrated top edge and angled slits that hold the needles such that they have a reduced lateral profile to allow the package to have a manipulable width while holding multiple sutures. Pledgets on the sutures park besides the needles in valleys of the serrated edge. In order to prevent the second panel from compressing the sutures when the package is folded, the fold lines of the base panel and the second panel are offset and the top portion of the second panel is slidably attached to the base panel by tabs and slots.

Two-tiered multistrand suture folder

A retainer card is disclosed which includes a pair of fold lines, a main section, and a center section. Opening(s) formed in the main section cooperate with opening(s) formed in the center section so as to form at least one receptacle for a surgical or medical device. The main section is deflectable from a relaxed configuration to a flexed configuration when a surgical or medical device is inserted into a corresponding one of the receptacle(s). The retainer card and the surgical or medical device(s) contained therein can be inserted into an outer sterilizable envelope.

Kit package for multiple small devices

A foldable package for an endoscopic specimen retrieval bag device. The package has a base panel having a pair of opposed major sides and a pair of opposed minor sides. The trapezoid shape connecting panel having a pair of opposed major sides and a pair of opposed angulated sides is foldably connected along the first major side to one major side of the base panel. A trapezoid shaped cannula retention panel having a pair of opposed major sides and a pair of opposed angulated sides is foldably connected along one major side to the second major side of the connecting panel and a regularly shaped upper panel has a first side along which the upper panel is foldably connected to the second major side of the retention panel. The upper panel has a pair of opposed angulated sides and an upper side. A triangularly-shaped retaining panel has a pair of angulated sides meeting at a top apex, first and second bottom sides opposite to the apex separated by a slot, and is foldably connected to the upper side of the upper panel along the first bottom side. A regularly shaped back support panel having a top side, a pair of opposed angulated sides, and first and second bottom sides separated by a slot is foldably connected along top side to the second bottom side of the bag retaining panel. An endoscopic surgical retrieval bag is retained in the package after it is folded and assembled.

A folder package for a electrosurgical scissors. The package has a base panel having a pair of substantially opposed major sides and a pair of substantially opposed minor sides. Foldably connected to a top minor side of the base panel is a scissors retention panel. The scissors retention panel is preferably foldably connected along a crushed fold line. The scissors retention panel has a base or bottom section, and an intermediate middle section and a top. The scissors retaining panel has a pair of opposed outwardly extending tab panels. Each tab panel has a pair of crushed fold lines contained therein. Extending from the top of the scissor retaining panel is a tab member. The tab has a U-shaped slit forming a retention tab and an opening. An additional slit at the end of the tab member intersects the U-shaped slit and divides the end of the tab member adjacent to the top of the U-shaped slit into opposed L-shaped members.

Folder package for electrosurgical scissors

A foldable package for an endoscopic suturing device is disclosed. The package comprises a base panel having opposed major sides and opposed minor sides. First and second package closure panels are mounted to one major side, while a mounting panel is mounted to the other major side. A retention panel is foldably connected to the mounting panel. Top and bottom tabs secure the suturing device. An optional needle park is mounted to the mounting panel.

Package for endoscopic instrument

A foldable package for a temporary cardiac pacing wire is disclosed. The package has a plurality of panels connected along fold lines as well as holes and tab pockets for mounting surgical needles and electrode needles. The package also has tabs and tab pockets for locking the package.

Temporary pacing wire package

Packaging for retaining a component together with an instrument package is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a foldable package made from a sheet of cut and folded paperboard material is used to retain an endoscope introducer and attach the introducer to an instrument package containing an instrument that is used with the introducer. The disclosed foldable package comprises openings and flaps that retain both the proximal and distal ends of the introducer, and a proximal flap overlies the introducer. The proximal flap is used to release the package and expose the introducer, permitting it to be removed in one smooth motion. Methods of providing prepackaged surgical instruments for a procedure are also disclosed.

Foldable package for endoscopic components and the like

A foldable package for an endoscopic loop and cannula assembly. The package has a central panel having a pair of opposed major sides and a pair of opposed minor sides. The central panel also has a top tab extending from the top, minor side for retaining a suture loop. At least one extension panel is foldably connected to the bottom minor side of the central panel. A bottom tab is foldably connected to the bottom-most extension panel for retaining the proximal end of the cannula. A suture retaining panel is foldably connected to one major side of the central panel along the upper portion of that side. The package closure panel is foldably connected to the other major side of the panel, along the upper portion of the side, substantially opposite to the suture retaining panel. The cannula can be retained by a U-shaped slot in the bottom tab for receiving and engaging the proximal end of the cannula and a U-shaped slot in the suture retaining panel having at least one tab extending from the slot. In an alternate embodiment, at least one bottom extension panel is foldably connected to the bottom of the central panel. The bottom tab panel is then foldably connected to the bottom of the bottom-most extension panel. The package may have an optional cannula retaining panel.

A foldable package for an endoscopic needle and suture and cannula assembly comprising a central panel and a plurality of foldably attached panels for receiving and retaining the cannula and suture. A needle park is provided for receiving and retaining the needle. Locking means in outer panels fasten the package closed. A tab on the central panel retains the suture in an open loop configuration, while locking tabs and a slot in at least one inner panel retain the cannula.

A medical device for enclosing an internal bodily organ or tissue during surgery comprising a filamentary strand with noose and free end portions, the free end portion enclosed within a cannula; a surgical bag with an opening, the bag attached to the noose portion at the open end of the bag; and a means for pulling the free end portion proximally to reduce the diameter of the noose portion so as to close the open end of the surgical bag.

Surgical device for enclosing an internal organ

An improved retainer for surgical sutures is provided which includes a suture retaining compartment comprising a suture winding panel with the panel having a pair of holding panels foldably connected to longitudinal edges of the suture winding panel. The holding panels are foldably connected to the winding panel by at least three gussets formed at the edges of the suture winding panel. The gussets at the ends of the foldable connection prevent frictional compression of the wound suture at the corners of the retaining compartment, and the central gussets or gussets engender a convex curvature to the holding panels, thereby creating a low friction volumetric compartment which retains the suture in place. The suture retainer also includes a needle holding means mounted at the intended location of the needle. In illustrated embodiments of the present invention the holding means is angularly disposed with respect to the longitudinal dimension of the retainer to afford ease of needle withdrawal, and in some embodiments the holding means is located on a foldable needle park panel. In some embodiments the retainer includes an insert against which the suture is wound. This insert provides several features, including preventing snagging of the suture on the needle holding means during suture withdrawal, and protection of the needle point. The insert may also include a flap to prevent the suture from snagging on a corner of the insert during withdrawal.

Retainer for surgical sutures

An improved retainer for surgical sutures is provided which includes a suture retaining compartment comprising a suture winding panel with the panel having a pair of holding panels foldably connected to longitudinal edges of the suture winding panel. The holding panels are foldably connected to the winding panel by at least three gussets formed at the edges of the suture winding panel.
