An electric power steering drive pulley assembly includes a motor shaft. The pulley assembly also includes a drive pulley coupled to the motor shaft. The drive pulley includes a radial retention portion having an inner diameter defining a first portion of a central opening that the motor shaft is disposed within. The drive pulley also includes an axial retention portion extending in the axial direction from the radial retention portion, the axial retention portion defining a second portion of the central opening that the motor shaft is disposed within, the inner diameter of the axial retention portion in splined engagement with the motor shaft to rotationally couple the drive pulley to the motor shaft, the axial retention portion including a flange protruding radially inwardly from the inner diameter of the axial retention portion to be disposed in a groove of the motor shaft.

A seal integrity verification system includes a pressure source, a valve, and a pressure sensor. The pressure source is fluidly connected to a housing having at least one sealing member. The valve is fluidly connected to the pressure source and the housing. The valve is movable between a first open position and a closed position. The pressure sensor is arranged to provide a first signal indicative of a pressure within the housing.

In-vehicle seal integrity verification system

A motor housing provided with a power pack assembly for a power steering system, includes a motor housing wall and an end cap. The motor housing wall extends along a first axis between a first motor housing end and a second motor housing end. The end cap is disposed at the first motor housing end. The end cap defines a projection having a first portion that extends along the first axis and a second portion that extends along a second axis that is offset from the first axis. The second portion is arranged to receive a valve assembly.

A steering system is provided. The steering system may include a drive pulley and a ball nut assembly. The drive pulley may be operatively connected to a drive shaft. The ball nut assembly may be driven by the drive pulley via a belt disposed about the drive pulley and the ball nut assembly. The ball nut assembly may include a ball nut and a driven pulley. The ball nut may have an inner surface disposed about a ball screw that defines and extends along a first axis and an outer surface disposed opposite the inner surface. The ball nut may define a first groove that extends from the outer surface towards the inner surface. The driven pulley may be disposed about the ball nut and have a retaining member that includes a finger for extending into the first groove to engage the ball nut and driven pulley without separate fasteners.

Self-retaining pulley for steering assembly

A method of fabricating a ball nut assembly is provided. The method includes providing a ball nut having a keyway slot. The method also includes forming a polymer pulley having an inner surface defining a bore, a cut-out formed in the inner surface, and a torque member extending radially inward from the inner surface, wherein the keyway slot is configured to receive the torque member therein.

Nylon resin driven pulley

A torque transmitting assembly is provided. The assembly includes a ball nut having an outer diameter and keyway slot therein, and a pulley positioned on the ball nut. The pulley includes a cylindrical outer surface, a bore extending through the pulley such that the pulley includes an inner surface, and at least one torque member formed on the inner surface and projecting radially inward to be received by the keyway slot.
