A medical dressing is described for prevention of pressure ulcers. The dressing has a gel pad having a low compressive strength; i.e. from 5 kPa to 60 kPa at a strain of 50%, as measured by the compression test described herein. The dressing reduces the shear and compression forces on the skin and in the underlying the soft tissue layers and prevents or mitigates the onset of pressure ulcers.

Prophylactic dressing

Described is a patient transfer mattress for lifting and transferring patients. The patient transfer mattress can be used in a gentle and pressure ulcer preventative approach. Also described is a method for lifting and/or transferring a patient using a patient transfer mattress.

Patient transfer mattress

The present disclosure relates to a patient support which can be used in a bed or flat surface and in particular to a system and method for support and offloading of the body and for turning and repositioning of a patient in a bed or on a flat surface. Features of the disclosure also relate to markings and other indicators used on the patient support which help guide caregivers in the proper use and correct patient positioning on the patient support.

A medical dressing for prevention of pressure ulcers is described. The dressing has a backing layer, a pad, and a body contact layer, wherein the pad is arranged between the backing layer and the body contact layer. The body contact layer has an adhesive skin contact layer and an anisotropic layer having a first (x) direction and a second (y) direction perpendicular to the first (x) direction. The anisotropic layer is stiffer in the second (y) direction than in the first (x) direction. Fluid container

A medical dressing for application to a surface of a human body is described. The medical dressing has a first direction (x) of extension and a second direction (y) of extension being perpendicular to the first direction (x) of extension. The medical dressing has at least a first and a second anisotropic layer having anisotropic stiffness, wherein the stiffness of each one of the first and the second anisotropic layer is higher in the second direction (y) of extension than in the first direction (x) of extension.

A medical dressing, specifically adapted to comprise a machine-readable tag for allowing efficient and safe inspection during use of the medical dressing is described. A medical dressing arrangement and to a computer implemented inspection method applied in conjunction with the medical dressing is also described.
