A dual material cable tie includes a tail on a first end, a head on a second end, and an elongated strap extending therebetween. The strap and tail are substantially flat and formed from a first material. The tail can have teeth/ridges on one or both of the surfaces that extend outwardly from the surface(s). The head has a first portion, a second portion and a passage extending from a first end to a second end that receives the tail. A pawl is located in the passage and the second portion includes an exterior surface. The first portion of the head is made from a first material and the second portion is made from a second material that can be stiffer than the first material and the hardness of the second material can be the same or greater than the first material.

An electrical box cover including a base having a back wall perimetrically bounded by an upwardly extending side wall. The back wall having an opening for receiving an electrical device. A lid pivotally connected to the base. The lid having a lid plate with an opening that is defined by a collar. A housing having a front wall and a plurality of contiguous side walls extending therefrom to a distal edge to define a housing interior. The housing has a flange extending from the side walls and is slidably disposed in the lid opening and moveable between a retracted and extended position with respect to the collar. A plurality of lugs can extend inwardly from the collar and the flange engages the lugs when the housing is in the extended position.

Self-healing polymers used to fabricate electrical devices or to coat electrical devices that have a metal or polymer substrate. The self-healing polymers can be made from modified polymers including polyurethanes, polyureas, polyamides and polyesters and, optionally, cross-linking agents and one or more catalysts. The self-healing polymers can be used to make cable ties, tape, conduit fittings and explosion-proof sealant materials.

An improved electrical box is disclosed that incorporates a bracket and device cover as a single combined unit. The combined unit is simpler to manufacture and to install as opposed to three separate pieces.

Prefabricated electrical box

A compression connector for connecting two wires is disclosed. The compression connector is made of either a single bifurcated connector body or two individual connector components that are slidably coupled and then crimped. As the compression connector is crimped, structural features on the connector components are pushed into a locked state in the two component embodiment. Bifurcated embodiments allow for more than one crimping act on the compression connectors resulting in a more reliable compression connection. The compression connector that results is much more resistant to failure compared to known C-shaped compression connectors.

A corrosion resistant conduit system that protects against corrosion and against electrical shortage. The corrosion resistant conduit system includes: a multilayer conduit having a metal layer disposed between two polymeric layers, a conduit fitting having an electrically conductive component and a body having one or more layers of polymeric material, and means for conductively coupling the metallic layer of the multilayer tube to the electrically conductive component of the fitting, which provides a continuous electrical path throughout the corrosion resistant conduit system.

A cable compression die assembly is used in connection with a compression tool for compressing a stranded cable prior to crimping. Upper and lower compression dies each have a semicircular groove to compress the cable. A plurality of extending blocks guides each die into sliding engagement. The stranded cable will be compressed between the upper and lower compression dies to a reduced cable radius. Compressing generally reduces or eliminates air spaces between the stranded cable wire strands. A subsequent crimp connection forms a nearly monolithic structure to maximize current flow between two crimp connected compressed stranded cables.

The present invention relates to a foldable cable tray configured for ease of transportation and for storage. The foldable cable tray includes a first side rail, a second side rail, a plurality of rungs movably connected to the first and second side rails to transit the foldable cable tray between unfolded and folded positions, and a locking device configured to lock each of the plurality of rungs to the first and second side rails when the foldable cable tray is in the unfolded position.

A cable tie includes a cable tie head that comprises a head portion. The cable tie also includes a cable tie body. The cable tie body comprises a main body that includes a body passageway; and a strap, wherein the cable tie head is attachable to and detachable from the cable tie body, and wherein the body passageway is formed to receive the legs for coupling the cable tie head with the cable tie body. The cable tie head is made from a different material than the cable head body.

A method for installing a conduit in a liquid-tight fitting includes inserting a coated gland nut configured for insertion onto a conduit, wherein the gland nut includes an outer surface and internal threads. A grounding ring is placed onto external threads of a tubular fitting body having a coated intermediate portion, such that an inner surface of the grounding ring is conductively coupled to the external threads of the fitting body. The outer surface of the grounding ring includes a ground wire engaging portion projecting therefrom. The internal threads of the gland nut are loosely coupled to the external threads of the fitting body. The grounding ring is rotated to a desired position relative to the fitting body. The gland nut is tightened to the fitting body, such that the coated outer surface of the gland nut and the coated intermediate portion of the fitting body compressingly engage the grounding ring therebetween.

Method for installing a conduit in a liquid-tight fitting

A low profile cable tie includes a strap having a tail at one end and a locking head at the other end. The locking head has passage for receipt of the tail therethrough. The strap includes a planar surface between the tail and the locking head having a plurality of notches therealong. The locking head includes a base portion and a head portion flexibly connected to the base portion with the passageway formed therebetween. The head portion includes a plurality of locking teeth extending into the passageway for engagement with the notches of the strap body. The notches engage a number of teeth less than all of the locking teeth upon insertion of the strap into the passageway. The head is flexibly pivotable so that more than the number of locking teeth engage the notches upon attempt to withdraw the strap from the head.

An electrical grounding clamp is provided, wherein the clamp includes a U-bolt, an inner clamp part connected to the U-bolt to clamp a floor support between the inner clamp part and the U-bolt and an outer clamp part connected to the U-bolt to clamp a conductor between the inner clamp part and the outer clamp part, wherein at least one of the inner clamp part and the outer clamp part is pivotable about one leg of the U-bolt to releasably engage the other leg of the U-bolt.

An electrical floor box assembly and cover are provided. The floor box cover includes an access door that is designed to be repositioned. The access door is repositioned by lifting, sliding, or moving back and securing into one of at least two closed (flat) positions. When the access door is secured in a closed 'not in service' position, the access door is watertight with a single gasket or seal. A second gasket or seal is provided below the cover for further watertightness. When the access door is secured in a closed 'in service' position, one or more apertures for cords are revealed, thereby permitting cords plugged into an outlet within the floor box assembly to protrude through the apertures.
