Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. Method and devices employing retransmission schemes

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for listening-based transmission. The method is performed at a communications device of a first type with a plurality of beams and operable on an unlicensed spectrum. The method comprises identifying a beam direction for a communications device of a second type when there is data directed to the communications device of the second type and obtaining a backoff counter for the identified beam direction. The method also comprises selecting at least one beam direction for listening during. The beam in each of the at least one beam direction covers at least one communications device of the second type having data directed thereto. The method further comprises scheduling transmission to a communications device of the second type in the identified beam direction when the backoff counter corresponding to that beam direction reaches a certain threshold. Embodiments also relate to corresponding apparatus.

Method and apparatus for listening based transmission

This disclosure relates to wireless communication. According to one example embodiment described in this disclosure, a method for contention based signaling is proposed. A network element such as base station monitors a dedicated UL channel to determine whether the dedicated UL channel is occupied by UL data transmissions. In response to a determination that the dedicated UL channel is not occupied by UL transmissions, the network element prioritizes DL data transmissions over the dedicated UL channel.

Contention based signaling in a wireless communication system

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to access point (AP) selection. According to one embodiment, the serving AP receives from the terminal device a measurement report including one or more measurement parameters for a plurality of neighbor AP devices and the serving AP device and selects from the plurality of neighbor AP devices one or more candidate target AP devices based on the measurement report received from the terminal device. Then, the serving AP can obtain evaluated capability levels from the selected one or more candidate target AP devices and determine from the selected one or more candidate target AP devices a best candidate target AP device with the highest evaluated capability level as a target AP device.

Method and apparatus for access point selection

A method for coordinating resources among a plurality of operating networks, including a first operating network and a second operating network performed at a coordination node, which may be a distributed coordination node in the first operating network or a centralized coordination node. The method comprises obtaining a first resource pattern for the first operating network and a second resource pattern for the second operating network. The first resource pattern is coordinated with the second resource pattern such that the first and second operating networks can conduct communications on different resource blocks when the first operating network is synchronized with the second operating network. The method also comprises determining whether the first operating network is synchronized with the second operating network. If it is determined that the first operating network is not synchronized with the second operating network, the method further comprises adjusting at least the first resource pattern.

Method and apparatus for coordinating resources

One embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a method for use in a terminal device. The method comprises: obtaining signal quality measurements of plural beams; and selecting at least one serving beam from the plural beams depending upon the obtained signal quality measurements and scheduling constraint information of the plural beams. The embodiments of the present disclosure also relates to relevant radio access node device. When selecting or reselecting a serving beam for a terminal device, the scheduling constrains applied on the beams/links can be taken into consideration, which may allow an mmW network operating the link-specific coordination to control the probability that a terminal device is served by a coordinated beam on constrained radio resources at a lower level as possible.

Methods and devices for beam selection

The embodiments disclose a method for an access node in a wireless network, and the method comprises a step of determining a HARQ feedback for each of one or more HARQ processes, for each of the plurality of communication devices, a step of generating a HARQ feedback table for the plurality of communication devices and a step of transmitting the HARQ feedback table to the plurality of communication devices. The embodiments also disclose a method for a communication device. The method comprises a step of receiving a HARQ feedback table from an access node, a step of obtaining HARQ feedbacks for the one or more HARQ processes of the communication device and a step of performing a retransmission according to the determination of the HARQ feedbacks of the communication device. The access node and communication device thereof are also disclosed according to the embodiments.

Downlink HARQ feedback transmission

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for inter-network measurement at a terminal device in a wirelesses network. The method comprises receiving an inter-network measurement configuration message containing measurement configurations. The method further comprises performing an inter-network measurement based on the measurement configurations contained in the inter-network measurement configuration message, so as to obtain information on inter-network interference. The method further comprises reporting a measurement result of the inter-network measurement, wherein the measurement result includes the information on inter-network interference. In addition, there are also provided an apparatus for inter-network measurement at a terminal device in a wirelesses network and a method and apparatus for inter-network measurement at an access node in a wireless network. With the solution of the present disclosure, it is possible to obtain information on the inter-network interference, which could provide a prerequisite of coordination schemes and enable coordinated spectrum sharing work well in system operation.
