Techniques are provided for pushing secure notifications to a mobile computing device. For example, a method for pushing secure notifications includes a push service platform receiving a push notification message request from an entity registered with the push service platform, processing the push notification message request to generate a secure push notification message, and sending the secure push notification message to a target mobile computing device through a native third-party push service associated with the target mobile computing device. The secure push notification message includes a message ID (identifier) that corresponds to message content associated with the push notification message request. The method further includes the push service platform receiving a pull message request from the target mobile computing device, the pull message request requesting the message content associated with the push notification message corresponding to the message ID, and sending the requested message content associated with the push notification message to the mobile computing device.

The present invention describes a method and system for preparing a migration and consolidation of at least one source application to be migrated to or consolidated in at least one heterogeneous server device. A computing system selects at least one prospective target platform component based on an evaluation of at least one source platform component, a requirement of the at least one source application, and a compatibility and an affinity of the at least one prospective target platform component. The computing system collects first metadata of the at least one source platform component and the at least one prospective target platform component. The computing system collects second metadata associated with the migration and consolidation. The computing system groups the first metadata and the second metadata into a RFM (Request For Migration). The computing system prepares and configures a final target platform in accordance with the RFM.

The present invention allows CPU utilization for a virtual machine (VM) to be captured from a perspective of a host. Specifically, under the present invention, a work request having a set (e.g., one or more) of jobs is received by a host and allocated to a virtual machine on a node. The work request is typically accompanied by an account identifier such as a multi-value billing code. Once the work request is allocated to a particular VM on the node, a 'startacct' script is issued, and a first account record is created. Thereafter, the work request is processed and the CPU utilization needed to complete the set of jobs is monitored. Once the set of jobs is completed, an 'endacct' script is issued and a second account record is created. Among other things, the second account record includes the monitored CPU utilization and the account identifier.
