In some examples, a catheter may include an elongate body and a push assembly. The elongate body may include an inner liner defining an entry port into a lumen defined by the elongate body, and an outer jacket. The push assembly may an anchor member positioned at a distal end of an elongate member. Distal to a proximal end of the elongate body, a first portion of the push assembly, comprising the anchor member, may be positioned between a portion of the inner liner and a portion of the outer jacket. The anchor member may extend only partially around an outer perimeter of the inner liner when the catheter is assembled. Proximal to the proximal end of the elongate body, a second portion of the push assembly, proximal to the first portion, may be positioned outside of the outer jacket and the inner liner.

Medical catheter

A catheter may include an elongate body including a proximal portion including a proximal end, and a distal tip portion. The distal tip portion may include an inner liner and a marker band circumferentially surrounding the inner liner. The distal tip portion also may include an outer jacket circumferentially surrounding a first portion of the inner liner and ending proximal of a proximal end of the marker band; and a tip outer jacket circumferentially surrounding a second portion of the inner liner and the marker band. The tip outer jacket extends distally past the marker band distal end to a distal tip of the elongate body, and a proximal end of the tip outer jacket may be laterally adjacent to a distal end of the outer jacket.

In some examples, a catheter flaring device includes a housing and a pin. The housing includes an interior surface defining a cavity configured to receive at least a portion of a catheter having an entry port and engage an exterior surface of the catheter proximate the entry port. The pin is configured to be advanced into the entry port of the catheter to increase a cross-sectional dimension of the entry port. Flaring the entry port may help reduce catching of a medical device on the entry port of the catheter during a medical procedure.

Catheter modification device

A guide extension catheter includes a push member and a distal shaft coupled to and extending distally from the push member. The distal shaft includes a shaft wall and a passageway. The shaft wall includes a helically-shaped proximal end and a distal end. The helically-shaped proximal end coils helically about a first central longitudinal axis of the passageway of the distal shaft. The helically-shaped proximal end of the shaft wall defines a helically-shaped entry port of the distal shaft. The distal shaft may include a helically-shaped collar coupled to the helically-shaped proximal end of the distal shaft, the collar defining the helically-shaped entry port of the distal shaft.

A dilatation catheter includes a high-pressure balloon component comprising an inner balloon and an outer balloon. An interior of the inner balloon is in fluid communication with a lumen of the catheter for receiving inflation fluid therefrom. The outer balloon defines a separate interior within which the inner balloon is disposed. The outer balloon has a hole in a wall thereof for venting the interior of the outer balloon to ambient environment. Proximal necks of the inner and outer balloons are bonded to an outer shaft of the catheter and distal necks of the inner and outer balloons are bonded to an inner shaft of the catheter. In accordance with embodiments hereof, the interior of the outer balloon is not in fluid communication with the interior of the inner balloon, the lumen of the catheter or any other source of fluid from the catheter.

High-pressure dilatation catheter balloon

A tray for a medical device assembly includes a tray body, a tray lid, and a connector arm. The tray body and the tray lid each have a first surface, a plurality of walls extending from the first surface, and an open end opposite the first surface. The connector arm is coupled to the tray body or the tray lid, and has a first position that permits the separation of the tray body and tray lid, and a second position that couples the tray body to the tray lid.

Locking mechanism for a medical device assembly tray

Embodiments hereof relate to methods and systems for determining a pressure gradient across a lesion of a vessel without requiring the use of a pharmacological hyperemic agent. A measurement system includes at least an injection catheter and a pressure-sensing instrument or guidewire slidingly disposed through the catheter, the pressure-sensing guidewire including at least one pressure sensor configured to obtain a pressure measurement for use in determining the pressure gradient across the lesion. The catheter is configured to deliver or inject a non-pharmacological fluid, such as saline or blood, across the lesion in order to increase a flow rate there-through, thereby simulating hyperemia without the use of a pharmacological hyperemic agent. Once an increased flow rate that simulates hyperemia is achieved, the pressure sensor of the pressure-sensing guidewire may be utilized to measure the pressure gradient across the lesion in order to assess the severity of the lesion.

Systems and methods for determining fractional flow reserve without adenosine or other pharmalogical agent

A catheter has an elongate tubular component that defines a pull wire lumen, which extends along at least a portion of a length thereof. A pull wire extends within the pull wire lumen with a distal end of the pull wire being secured near a distal end of the catheter. The catheter includes a pull wire actuation mechanism slidably disposed thereon that is operably coupled to a proximal end of the pull wire. The pull wire actuation mechanism includes a first or upper housing portion that is longitudinally translatable in a first direction relative to the guide catheter and a second or lower housing portion that is longitudinally translatable in an opposite, second direction relative to the catheter to actuate the pull wire and selectively operate the distal end thereof.
