Medical devices useful in the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents, kits and methods are described. An example catheter comprises an elongate member having an elongate member proximal end, an elongate member distal end, and an elongate member main body extending between the elongate member proximal end and the elongate member distal end. The elongate member main body defines an elongate member circumferential wall, first, second, and third openings on the elongate member proximal end, a first heating lumen extending from the first opening toward the elongate member distal end, a second heating lumen extending from the second opening toward the elongate member distal end, and a treatment lumen extending from the third opening toward the elongate member distal end. The treatment lumen comprises a blind passage. The elongate member circumferential wall defines a plurality of passageways providing fluid communication between the treatment lumen and an environment external to the catheter.

Intraperitoneal chemotherapy medical devices, kits, and methods

Methods of making medical devices are described. A method of making a medical device for delivering a bioactive includes preparing a suitable solution comprising the bioactive; placing a vessel containing the solution over a substrate comprising a biocompatible foam and defining open cells; initiating flow of the solution from the vessel and toward the substrate such that the solution exits the vessel and contacts the substrate; and maintaining flow of the solution for an amount of time sufficient to achieve a desired volume of the solution within the substrate. Medical devices made by the methods are also described.

Medical devices for delivering a bioactive to a point of treatment and methods of making medical devices

Various aspects of the present disclosure provide compositions, coatings and implantable devices including a drug and an excipient. In certain embodiments the excipient and the drug are present at a weight ratio of between 10 to 1 and 1 to 10 drug to excipient. In certain other embodiments, the excipient and the drug form particles in which the drug is encapsulated by the excipient. Other aspects of the disclosure provide methods of manufacturing and using such compositions, coatings and implantable devices.

Encapsulated drug compositions and methods of use thereof

Medical devices for local bioactive delivery are described. A medical device includes a first biodegradable layer, a second biodegradable layer, and a bioactive disposed between the first and second biodegradable layers. The first and second biodegradable layers are positioned such that a surface of the first biodegradable layer faces a surface of the second biodegradable layer and such that a peripheral portion of one biodegradable layer is folded over a peripheral portion of the other biodegradable layer. Methods of making medical devices and methods of using medical devices are also described.

Medical devices for local bioactive delivery

Disclosed is a medical device constructed and arranged for contact with a flow of blood or other bodily fluid of a patient and including an attached binding agent or a roughened surface that binds to pathogenic cells targeted for elimination from the blood or other bodily fluid. Also disclosed are methods for making and using the device.
