In some example embodiments, there may be provided a method that includes generating, by an application function and based on a time sensitive communication requirement for one or more end stations, at least one quality of service parameter for a time sensitive communication path from a talker end station through at least a portion of a 5G system to a listener end station; and sending, by the application function, a request towards a policy control function, the request including the at least one quality of service parameter configured to enable a creation, at the one or more 5G nodes, of a quality of service flow in accordance with the at least one quality of service parameter, wherein the one or more 5G nodes comprise a user plane function and/or at least one base station. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

Method to support 5G time sensitive communications

A method may include receiving, by a traffic ingress entity of a communication network, one or more packets of a traffic flow. The method may also include assigning a classification, by the data reception entity, to each packet of the one or more packets of the traffic flow according to one or more protocol data unit sets to which the packet belongs to. The method may further include mapping the one or more packets of the traffic flow to one or more quality of service flows for quality of service handling of the one or more packets based on the classification assigned to each packet. In addition, the method may include outputting the classification assigned to each packet to a network element for enabling quality of service handling of the one or more packets based on the mapping and one or more quality of service information.

Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products provide for specifying, in quality of service (QoS) requests, alternative QoS-related parameter sets and/or alternative traffic pattern parameter sets. In the context of one method, the method receives a QoS request comprising one or more QoS parameters and/or one or more traffic pattern parameters, and one or more alternative QoS parameter sets and/or one and more alternative traffic pattern parameter sets. The method also selects the one or more QoS parameters or an alternative QoS parameter set of the one or more alternative QoS parameter sets based on a supporting capability of a network. The method also causes transmission of a Policy and Charging Control (PCC) rule based on the selected parameters and transmits an indication of the selected parameters.

According to a first embodiment, a method may include receiving at least one time sensitive communications (TSC) request from at least one application function (AF). The method may further include determining at least one hold and forward (HnF) parameter based on the at least one TSC request. For example, within a communication network environment a possibility for retrieval of historical data indicative of events occurring within the communication network environment and obtained from one or more data sources within the communication network environment is provided. Selection criteria is specified at a first device to be applied to the historical data for a query to be performed on the historical data kept in a historical data repository associated with a second device. At least one processing instruction is specified at the first device. The processing instruction determines the generation of a report based on the defined query. The selection criteria and the processing instruction is transmitted to the second device, and the report generated at the second device based on the transmitted selection criteria and processing instruction is received.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, a device and a computer readable medium for IPv6 address management in an IAB system. The method comprises obtaining an IPv6 prefix for an IAB node in the IAB system, the prefix being associated with the donor central unit or a donor distributed unit in the IAB system; determining an interface identity for the IAB node; and generating, based on the Internet Protocol Version 6, IPv6, prefix and the interface identity, an IPv6 address for the IAB node for communication between the donor central unit and the IAB node. As a result, IPv6 address management for an IAB node in an IAB system is implemented.
