Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for calculating an EVM of a transmitter. One apparatus includes a processor and a receiver that receives a multiple-layer MIMO signal from a transmitter via a propagation channel. The processor measures the received multiple-layer MIMO signal using an unbiased linear MMSE MIMO equalizer and calculates an EVM of the transmitter, where the EVM for each transmission layer is calculated as 100 times the square root of the mean square error of the layer estimate at the output of the unbiased linear MMSE MIMO equalizer.

One method includes measuring a first frequency response at a first antenna connector. The method includes determining a first zero-forcing equalizer for the first antenna connector as an inverse of the first frequency response. The method includes determining a second zero-forcing equalizer for the second antenna connector as an inverse of the second frequency response. The method includes determining a magnitude of a composite zero-forcing equalizer as a square root of a weighted combination of squares of magnitudes of the first zero-forcing equalizer and the second zero-forcing equalizer. A first weight applied for the first antenna connector is a square of a first power measured at the first antenna connector.

One apparatus includes a processor and a receiver that receives a signal via a propagation channel from an antenna port at a transmitter, the antenna port comprising multiple antennas and with an antenna connector for each antenna. The processor measures the received signal using an unbiased linear MMSE equalizer and calculates an EVM of the antenna port, where the EVM is calculated as 100 times the square root of the mean square error of the symbol estimate at the output of the unbiased linear MMSE equalizer.

Uplink power control

Reference symbols can be received. A first received power of the reference symbols on a first antenna port can be measured. A second received power of the reference symbols on a second antenna port that is coupled to and uses the same transmit power amplifier as the first antenna port can be measured. A received power difference can be determined based on a relationship between the second received power and the first received power. A value of the received power difference can be transmitted.

Communication apparatus and method for communicating using a transmit power difference between antennas

A method and apparatus are provided. an indication of a first uplink resource allocation of resource blocks for a transmission on a first carrier, and an indication of a second uplink resource allocation of resource blocks for a transmission on a second carrier are received. An indication of a downlink allocation for receiving a downlink signal is further received. A higher order intermodulation product, which is co-located with a lower order intermodulation product for the first and second allocations resulting from any respective higher order and lower order transceiver nonlinearities is identified. A determination is then made as to whether the co-located higher order intermodulation products have a region of overlap with the downlink allocation. When the co-located higher order intermodulation products have a region of overlap with the downlink allocation, adjustments in the operation are made to account for the overlap of the higher order intermodulation product and the downlink allocation.

Method and apparatus for dynamic power sharing and managing the maximum power for a secondary carrier

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for uplink power control. One method includes: operating a network entity with multiple antenna arrays; determining a first closed-loop power control process for a first set of uplink beam patterns based on a first antenna array of the multiple antenna arrays, wherein at least one receive beam pattern of the first antenna array is used to receive a first uplink transmission using at least one uplink beam pattern; determining a second closed-loop power control process for a second set of uplink beam patterns based on a second antenna array of the multiple antenna arrays, wherein the second antenna array is different from the first antenna array; and indicating to the device in a configuration message the first closed-loop power control process and the second closed-loop power control process.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for transmitting signals with delays. One method includes determining, at a user equipment, a first transmit signal based on a set of modulation symbols. The method includes determining a second transmit signal based on the first transmit signal, wherein the second transmit signal is a delayed copy of the first transmit signal that is delayed by a delay, and the delay is less than a maximum value. The method includes transmitting the first transmit signal from a first antenna of the user equipment. The method includes transmitting the second transmit signal from a second antenna of the user equipment.

The data sequence is then transmitted () using the multiple physical antennas from which a signal quality metric of a transmitter corresponding to a difference between a received signal associated with the transmission of each respective data symbol of the data sequence and a respective ideal location of a predefined constellation point associated with the data symbol that was transmitted can be determined, wherein an error vector magnitude involving an aggregated difference associated with the data sequence involving the transmission via the multiple physical antennas is determined.
