Disclosed herein is a nail varnish composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least one film-forming polymer, wherein the varnish composition is capable of forming a film having a rate of mass loss of less than 0.5 mg/minute when the film is subjected to abrasion produced with the Taber abrasimeter at 23&#xb0; C., as well as a method for making up and/or non-therapeutic care of the nails comprising applying to the nails the composition.

Nail varnish

This invention relates to the use of colloidal silicic acid as a cushioning agent in a composition including at least one film-forming material and at least one organic or aqueous solvent.

Use of colloidal silicic acid in a nail varnish composition

An aqueous cosmetic composition for fixing hair includes an aqueous dispersion of: a) particles of a film-forming polymer containing carboxylic acid functions neutralized to a degree of neutralization of between 10 and 80% using a non-volatile monobasic agent, the particles having an average diameter of between 10 and 300 nm, and b) at least one plasticizing agent. The composition may be utilized in an aerosol lacquer, a fixing or setting lotion or a styling mousse.

Hair-setting composition

An aqueous cosmetic composition for fixing hair is an aqueous particulate dispersion. The dispersion includes particles of a film-forming polymer containing carboxylic acid functions neutralized to a degree of neutralization from between 10 and 80 percent using a non-volatile monobasic agent. The particles have an average diameter of between 10 and 300 nm. The aqueous dispersion also includes at least one plasticizing agent. The composition may be used as an aerosol lacquer, a fixing or setting lotion or a styling mousse.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of polymers, in particular as film-forming agent. The said aqueous dispersions are obtained by radical polymerization of radical monomer, within and/or partially at the surface, of preexisting particles of at least one polymer chosen from the group consisting of polyurethanes and/or polyureas.
