An apparatus and method stabilizes a pair of parallel coaxial lines for an antenna having a tower. An upper portion of each coaxial line is suspended from the tower. A lower end of the coaxial lines is free to move vertically relative to the tower. The apparatus has an expandable element disposed along a first portion of the length of one coaxial line and a frame which rigidly ties together the two coaxial lines at a second portion of each of the lines below the expandable element. One type of expandable element includes telescoping inner conductors and telescoping outer conductors.

Coaxial line phase stabilization assembly and method

A plate has an iris defined by an aperture, and a rod extending radially outward from the iris through the plate. The rod is radially adjustable and a sleeve is disposed on the rod, for tuning the plate by slidably adjusting the rod radially.

An apparatus and method stabilizes a pair of parallel coaxial lines for an antenna having a tower. An upper portion of each coaxial line is suspended from the tower. The apparatus has a flexible section disposed along a first portion of the length of one coaxial line and a frame which rigidly ties together the two coaxial lines at a second portion of each of the lines below the flexible section.

An apparatus and method is provided for connecting together sections of a coaxial radio frequency transmission line. The system includes a multiple finger contact radially deformable along its axial length that may be resiliently supported in the radial direction by multiple finger contact spring rings. A hood is provided to catch metallic particles given off by the frictional wear of the contact.

The rigid coaxial transmission line disclosed herein is made up of multiple sections having outer conductors which are joined together at flanges and make up a desired length. Rather than being of equal length, the sections vary in length progressively to prevent the reflections caused by the flanges from accumulating at any frequency within the band at which the transmission line is to operate.

Broadband rigid coaxial transmission line

The coaxial connector disclosed herein accommodates differential expansion between inner and outer conductors in a multi-section run of coaxial transmission line by utilizing a coupler assembly which connects adjacent inner conductors, one of the inner conductors being fixedly connected to the coupler with axial movement being permitted with respect to the other inner conductor. Electrical connection between the coupler and the movable conductor is established at a single axial position by an annular conductive spring member while longitudinal alignment is maintained over the rest of the length of the coupler by insulating rings set into annular grooves. A tubular shield extends from the coupler over the adjacent end of the movable inner conductor without electrical contact. The axial length of the shield is larger than the differential expansion which occurs between inner and outer conductor sections. The shield masks the gap at end of the movable inner conductor which is otherwise variable with differential expansion and thereby minimizes the changes in impedance at the connector.

A radio frequency crosspoint switch module for use in a matrix comprising: a housing adapted to provide grounding; a pair of orthogonally related crosspoint switches disposed within the housing at either end thereof, each crosspoint switch including three movable blade contacts and three sets of fixed contacts, one set of fixed contacts being disposed on, and in contact with, the housing; a pair of coaxial connectors coupled to each of the ends of the housing, each connector having an inner conductor and an outer conductor, each pair of coaxial connectors being disposed on a common axis to be connected in a through connection mode when a respective switch is in a first position, such that two of the movable blade contacts are in contact with the second and third sets of fixed contacts attached to, or forming part of, the inner conductors of the first and second connectors respectively; a third coaxial connector being rotatable, extending between the ends of the housing, and orthogonally related to the two pairs of coaxial connectors, the third coaxial connector being grounded by way of contact of the one set of fixed contacts disposed on the housing with the third of the movable blade contacts, which is affixed to the third coaxial connector, when said crosspoint switches are in their first position; and being connected to one of the other coaxial connectors when the crosspoint switches are in their second, or cross connection, position.

An improved water ring rotary air compressor in which the rotor assembly has a cylindrical bore while the port head includes a cylindrical port sleeve, made from a high lubricity thermoplastic material, which fits within the bore. The use of a high lubricity thermoplastic port sleeve eliminates the need for shimming the port head following an overhaul of the compressor. The port sleeve includes a plurality of longitudinal slots which eliminate cavitation during start up under pressure. A needle valve built into the manifold allows bypass of a portion of the discharge air into the air inlet. Adjustment of the needle valve permits the maintenance of constant air flow as the compressor becomes worn.
