The described embodiments set forth techniques for testing a wireless device configured to use an embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) and excluding a removable UICC card. A test apparatus processes application protocol data units (APDUs) for conformance with a standardized test specification, where the APDUs are provided by an eSIM command handler client application that interfaces with a baseband processor in communication with the eUICC that includes test profiles with test applets.

Test certification system for eSIM-only wireless devices

Recovering a user equipment (UE) from limited service due to misconfiguration may include providing a universal subscriber identity module (USIM) identification data or a USIM authentication data to a wireless network. Failure data associated with failing to authenticate or identify the UE to the wireless network may be decoded. The failure data received from the wireless network. The failure data may be processed to determine a cause for the failure. Based on processing the failure data, it may be determined that the USIM identification data or the USIM authentication data is misconfigured. Recovering devices from limited service due to mis-configuration

A method for playing a movie asset in several playback devices. The method receives a request to play a movie asset and synchronizes clocks between a first device and a second device, which is a portable device. The method signals a start of the playback of the asset through the first and second playback devices, where playback on the second device is synchronized with playback on the first device. The method wirelessly transmits an alert message that identifies the asset through the first and second devices and includes a description of an upcoming or future segment of the asset, where a first version of the segment is played back through the first device. In response to receiving the alert message, the second device becomes configured to select a second version of the segment in accordance with i) user settings of the portable device and ii) the description of the segment.
