A row unit for a work vehicle includes a row unit frame with a closer frame. The closer frame defines a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis. The closer frame is supported for rotational movement about a substantially vertical steering axis to vary a turning angle between the longitudinal axis the vehicle longitudinal axis. The row unit includes a closer implement assembly with first and second closer implements and a walking beam construction. The first and second closer implements are attached to opposite areas of the walking beam construction. The walking beam construction is rotationally attached to the closer frame to support rotation of the closer implement assembly about the transverse axis. The first and second closer implements are configured to move ground material into a ground opening from opposites sides as the work vehicle moves across the field.

A method of generating a suggested optimal time for performing an agricultural operation in a field includes receiving data related to a current condition of a crop in the field. A predicted optimal time to perform the agricultural operation in the field is calculated using an agricultural model. Crowdsourcing data is received related to agricultural operations occurring within a defined area surrounding the field and within a defined preceding time period. The predicted optimal time to perform the agricultural operation is adjusted based on the crowdsourcing data, to generate the suggested optimal time to perform the agricultural operation. The suggested optimal time is communicated to a communicator located remote from the computing device and then displayed on the communicator.

The camera is movable relative to the at least one of the draft tongue, the main frame and the working unit to reposition the field of view.

A computing device compares the color spectrum of the image to a calibrated color measurement to determine an ash content in the cut crop material, and/or a degree of stem conditioning of the cut crop material. The computing device may then communicate the results to an operator, and/or adjust the cutting system or the crop conditioning system based on the ash content or the degree of stem conditioning.

The RFID tags are located on, at, or near machine components or systems to sense a temperature of those components or systems. A receiver/transmitter interrogates the RFID tags and receives the sensed temperatures, and component identifiers. A controller receives the temperatures from the receiver/transmitter and compares the received temperatures to a threshold to determine whether a fault condition exists. If so, the controller transmits an alert signal to a user interface to indicate that a fault condition exists with an identified component, part, device, or system.
