The striking surface has at least two materials that differ in concentration away from the geometric center of the striking surface to provide this consistency. Consistent (or uniform) ball speed is achieved throughout the striking surface as the portion of the golf ball that contacts the striking surface interacts with at least two materials having a differing material characteristic.

Described herein are embodiments of an iron-type golf club head comprising a suspended weight bar within the interior cavity. The weight bar can be attached to and suspended in front of an internal mass pad. The weight bar overhangs at least a portion of the sole and is spaced away from the strike face. The weight bar thereby provides a low and forward center of gravity (CG) position without hindering the flexure of the strike face or the sole.

Embodiments of a golf club head having an adjustable weight system. The golf club head having a single, relatively compact channel for receiving a weight assembly. The channel does not comprise any threaded bores in or through the walls of the channel. The weight assembly comprises a single weight and a screw. The weight comprises a threaded bore configured to receive the screw. The channel further comprises notches and locating features to position the weight in distinct, prescribed positions. The locating features, notches, and screw are concentric to one another in a final, assembled configuration.

Described herein is a golf club head comprising reinforcement members. The reinforcement members span across a rear cavity to connect to at least two portions of the perimeter of the club head and do not touch the rear surface of the strike face. The reinforcement members can be integrally casted or separately formed and attached to the club head. The reinforcement members improve the sound and vibrational response of the club head.

Embodiments of golf club heads with components composed of a metal-composite-metal construction are described herein. The metal-composite-metal construction makes up a portion of the golf club head. The metal-composite-metal construction can make up any one or combination of the following structures: faceplate, face insert, internal ribs, turbulators, crown insert, or weight channel. The composite layer of the metal-composite-metal construction is composed of reinforced fibers. The metal-composite-metal construction allows for weight savings in the golf club head while maintaining durability, strength, rigidity, and performance.

Embodiments of a golf club head with an internal lattice structure are described herein. The golf club head can be an iron or putter-type club head. The lattice structure can have varying beam thicknesses that correlate to the effective density profile of the lattice. The effective density of the lattice structure can range between 0 g/mmand 0.0075 g/mm, achieving beneficial product of inertia values for irons and a forward CG location for a putters. For irons, an Ixy product of inertia can be greater than or equal to &#x2212;40 g&#xb7;in. An Ixz product of inertia can be less than or equal to &#x2212;25 g&#xb7;in, resulting in improved sidespin for high and low face impacts. The lattice structure can concentrate mass into a high-toe and a low-heel quadrant or region of the iron to achieve the product of inertia values. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
